Werte,
As we reach the end of Term 2, I want to pause and give thanks - for the learning, the laughter, and the growth we’ve shared together. It has been a term filled with moments that remind us what it means to belong, to serve, and to grow in God’s love. This term has been rich with learning, service, and relationships and our students have been Free to Flourish.
In our first learning cycle of Courage, we have leaned into Service through our “Growing Deep” framework, asking both staff and students: How do we use what we’ve learned to bless others?
Highlights of Term 2
Year 2 partnered again with the Old Timers for shared activities - reading, crafts, and conversation - modelling our values of being Adventurous, Compassionate, Purposeful and Relational Learners.
Anzac Day Participation: Many joined the march and worship service, with our students leading us in prayers and thoughtful reflection. A very special moment was reserving an empty chair in honour of absent loved ones as an act of remembrance and respect.
Reading Growth: Mid-year assessments show confidence gains across the board, highlighting the impact of our targeted literacy support across the school.
Numeracy: Thinking Mathematically has been reinforced across our school with our whole school number fluency program.
Mother’s Day Breakfast: Our annual Mother’s Day breakfast was packed with laughter and warmth. Thank you to all the mums and caregivers who joined us and to POTS who host this wonderful event.
This semester our students have shone on the sports field with many representing us at district and territory level. We won the Interschool Cross Country and the Small Schools Athletics trophy - well done, team!
Our students performed commendably at the Eisteddfod, making us proud and winning several categories. Students were also represented in the Young Archies, coming away with lots of recognition of their talents.
Staff Appreciation & Farewells
A heartfelt thank you to staff who have gone above and beyond this term—leading incursion projects, organising events, and adapting with grace. We are also saying farewell to Mrs Rakhi Kumari, who is relocating to Western Australia. We would like to thank Rakhi and wish her all the best.
Reminder for the Break: Please check uniform items, school hats, and library bags over the break. Labelled items are easy to return if misplaced. We currently have lots of lost property at Reception, which is unlabelled.
Looking Ahead to Term 3
Term 3 commences on Tuesday, 15 July. We are excited to explore our next focus, Love in Action, through creative learning projects across the classrooms.
Camps: Details will go home in early Term 3 for our Nest camp & Reef Alice Springs and Canberra camps.
Father’s Day Breakfast: Scheduled for Friday, 29 August. Save the date - we’d love to celebrate our dads and father-figures.
Term 2 has been unforgettable, filled with purpose, growth, and connection. Thank you to every student, family, and staff member who shared in this time of enriching experiences. May the holidays bring rest, joy, and treasured time together. We look forward to starting Term 3 refreshed, ready to live our values in every classroom, playground, and worship service.
Blessings,
Lisa
As we reach the end of another school term, we say goodbye to some old friends and welcome new ones. This is the rhythm of life, especially in a place like Alice Springs. There are always hellos and goodbyes, welcomes and farewells. We give thanks for the people God brings across our path and look forward to future friendships as well.
I thank God for Mrs Kumari and her family and their time at Living Waters as they prepare to move interstate. Mrs Kumari has always been a kind, smiling and welcoming presence around our school. She has been a great support to her fellow staff members and always puts the needs of students first.
People are irreplaceable. No two are alike. When Jesus was leaving his disciples to return to his Father, they were worried what life would be like without him. He reassured them by saying, “Very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you” (John 16:7).
Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit, which we have been talking about at Living Waters this term. The Holy Spirit is an advocate, a friend, a teacher, a counsellor and a guide. Jesus compares the Holy Spirit to the wind. We cannot see the Spirit but we can see where it goes and what it does.
I believe God’s Spirit is at work among our community at Living Waters, encouraging, inspiring and leading us. I am grateful for the lessons we have learned this term and for each student and staff member who has contributed to the make up of our community. May God’s Spirit be with you and give you a restful break.
Pastor Ben
At Living Waters, we highlight different families and staff members to pray for each week. Praying for people in our community by name shows that we care for them as God does. He knows and loves each of us individually, and when we lift others up in prayer, we recognise their value in His eyes. This strengthens our community by bringing us closer together, reminding us to support and encourage one another.

For those who haven’t met me, yet my name is Rosie Henderson and I’m an educator in the Foundation Room.
I’m 24 years old and moved here from Darwin two years ago with my 2-year-old daughter.
Before working at Living Waters, I worked in the early childhood field and have been in the sector for six years! It has been a nice change of environment since working here.
My main interest is bodybuilding, and I am hoping to compete in a couple of competitions at the start of next year.
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week the whole school participated in a (very belated) Clean Up Australia Day challenge. They collected rubbish from around the school, leaving our grounds lovely and tidy for the holidays.
The Eco Team sorted the rubbish that was collected into categories, enabling them to evaluate our waste footprint. The team will present their findings at assembly next term.
Families are reminded that in line with our enrolment policy conditions we require a full term's notice of student departures. If you are planning to depart from Living Waters, please let us know by emailing living.waters@ntschools.net as soon as you know.

Thank you for your participation.
School Start and Finish Times (8:20 am – 2:50 pm)
Children should arrive at school by 8:15 am at which time teachers collect and take children to class in readiness for roll marking.
It is vitally important that children arrive at school on time, please. Every minute of learning/classroom organisation is important for each learner. Your assistance in helping us by having your child at school by 8:20 am will be most graciously appreciated. To that end, school commences at 8:20 am sharp, each day. If your child arrives at school late, they should present for a late pass at Reception.
Uniform Standards
Parents are reminded of the need to ensure that the wearing of uniforms are in line with the school expectations.
Particularly, we would draw your attention to the following areas:
Students' hair is to be kept clean, neat and tidy, off the face; of natural appearance, not dyed, tinted or bleached. Hair below the shoulders needs to be tied up at all times.
Black shoes should be plain, conventional and well-maintained.
Students may not wear any makeup at any time.
Girls may wear plain gold or silver studs or sleepers only.
Our students have a responsibility to uphold the ethos of the school, and to show pride in their school by wearing the uniform correctly – both at the school and when in the community. Your support in this regard is greatly appreciated.
If your child is going to be away from school and you have already ordered canteen, please ring or email reception by 8:30am so that your child’s order can be held until they return to school.
The canteen is open all week except for Thursdays.
To order, simply download the School24 app and use School ID: 2513 7963. Orders are due in by 8:20 am each day.
Please remember that all canteen orders require a bag. Separate bags are needed for first and second break. You can purchase paper or reusable bags through the School24 app when ordering. Please check the 'bags' section of the menu. Students are also welcome to use a lunch bag purchased from elsewhere or brought from home - make sure to clearly label it though.
Ness in the canteen is always looking for volunteers to help out, particularly on Fridays, but anytime you can give would be much appreciated. To register your interest please email Ness at lwls.canteen@ntschools.net.
