Creativity meets Collaboration - Year 3 Visual Arts & Performing Arts
Our amazing Year 3 students have been channeling their creativity into designing vibrant Batik-style T-shirts using PVA glue and acrylic paint and the results are nothing short of brilliant!
These unique artworks weren’t just eye-catching; they also became a key feature of our Performing Arts costumes. This creative project beautifully highlights the strong connection between Visual Arts and Performing Arts, showcasing the power of collaboration across specialist curriculum areas.
By blending artistic expression with performance, the students not only developed new skills but also discovered the joy of working together to bring something special to life. We couldn’t be prouder of their incredible efforts!
Prep Visual Arts Spotlight – Nature, Culture & Creativity
Recently, our enthusiastic Prep students embarked on a rich and meaningful journey, combining creativity with cultural learning. They explored First Nations People's stories and the deep meanings behind them.
To bring this learning to life, the students created unique artworks using leaves from ‘nature’s pharmacy’, plants traditionally used by Aborigines for healing and ceremony. Through this process, the students discovered the important role nature plays in storytelling and artistic expression.
This hands-on project not only allowed our youngest learners to develop foundational visual art skills, but also nurtured an appreciation for Aboriginal culture and wisdom. Their leaf artworks are a beautiful reflection of learning, creativity, and growing cultural awareness
