What a night of Celebration!
Last Tuesday night saw the very best of our students performance skills on stage at Crossway Centre, with a little cameo appearance from staff as well! We could not have been more impressed with the students commitment, effort, focus and support of each other in their various roles and performances on the night. The whole performance written, produced and led by our highly talented Perming Arts teacher Trish O'Gorman and supported by all staff was inspiring. For a proud, small school it was a BIG show with huge talent!
As a staff, we were in a priviledged position to see each students performance skills develop with practice and guidance over the past 17 weeks. We witnessed enormous growth in the students as they developed their use voice, facial expression, movement and space to imagine and establish their roles within the production, not to mention their singing skills. We hope you enjoyed the snippets you heard over the weeks in the lead up. Parents said at the end of the night that each of those snippets made sense once the whole story was told.
There was plenty of magic and magnificence in the auditorium on Tuesday evening as we welcomed parents, grandparents, siblings, aunties, uncles, special guests, past students and members of our St Roch's community to the performance. Our students were bubbling with excitement to show you what they had created after many weeks of rigorous and fun rehearsals. Thank you for your support, attendance and joy on the night as you encouraged and helped to bring the magic of Melbourne to life.

They toured the new building and were so impressed with our very stylish renovation and were full of praise for how incredible the whole school looks. They send a big hello to everyone.

Term 2 Chess Club
Chess Club is on every Wednesday at 11.00am for all interested students. Please consider registering your child for this great lunchtime club. See details about registering in the Extra Curricula page of the newsletter.
Gardening Club
Gardening Club is held every Wednesday at 1.50pm and is open to all students from Prep - Year 6. This is such a beautiful time for our students to increase feelings of wellbeing while learning about science as they dig in the soil and tend to the garden.
Recently, in Gardening Club, we have been planting and tending to the beans and peas. There is also lots of parsley, nasturtium, marigolds and strawberry plants that need regular watering and weeding. We have also explored the ‘colours of Autumn’ using found nature items and some paint chips. Some children were involved in an activity to compare and contrast and make observations on the changing colours of leaves in Autumn.
We look forward to watching the students and Mrs Meseha's autumn vegetables growing in our veggie patches.

Dance Club with Maddie from Dance Fitness Victoria is held every Thursday at lunchtime. Dance Club is open for all students from Prep to Year 2. Registrations for Term 2 are now open.
