Student Voice

At The King's College, student voice is highly valued. The student leadership team meets regularly to discuss ideas and initiatives. Students are encouraged to share their feedback and suggestions with the College Captains, ensuring their voices help shape the school community.
Take a Seat, Student Voice at Work!
We're excited to share that new seating has been installed around the College, thanks to the valuable feedback provided by our students. Last year, students voiced the need for additional seating through the Student Council 2024. In response, the Council worked closely with the College community to bring this initiative to life. With funds raised through student-led activities and the generous support of our Parents & Friends Committee, we were able to purchase seven new aluminium table and chair sets. A special thank you goes to the Year 11 Woodwork Class, who kindly assembled the new sets.
This is a wonderful example of student voice in action, and a reminder that positive change begins with speaking up. If you have suggestions or ideas for improving our school environment, please reach out to a member of the Student Leadership Team.
Together, we can continue to make our College a more welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.
College Captain's Message
We are your College Captains, Romi and Kenneth, and we are reporting on behalf of your student leadership team.
As you may know, one role held by student councillors and other student leadership positions is to attend meetings to discuss various operations happening here at The King's College. Since Term 1, the subject of many meetings has been funds and other monetary grants set aside to help the school. It is here, in these meetings, that we can discuss and debate student input regarding the various events in the school. Of course, it is not realistic to fund every student's idea. It is essential to be selective, and through this council, we can determine the most effective distribution of the various funds to best support the school.
As seen with the new benches, the whole process, from start to finish, began with identifying a problem. The student leaders raised the issue of insufficient student seating in the meetings. Then, with the input from the teachers, including Pastor Linda and Mrs Au, we were able to distribute these benches around the secondary school.
We look forward to partnering with the community on other events this year.
