Executive Team News

With Violeta Dellidis, Karen Jackson, Brooke Gillis, Kate Newitt, and Dale Thompson

It is hard to believe the end of term is fast approaching and we are halfway through the school year. This term has been filled with camps, incursions, excursions and learning. A big thank you to our staff who put a lot of time and effort into making these events happen and to our students for their engagement and behaviour they displayed reflecting our school values.

As this is the final newsletter of the term we would like to wish our students, staff and their families a safe and enjoyable school holiday break. Enjoy this time reconnecting with each other and preparing for another busy term ahead.

Exams

Year 8 and 9 exams across the areas of English and Math will be taking place in Week 11 of this term. The exam period will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding and practise skills that are vital for their later years of schooling. All results will be provided to students and families early in Term 3. A big thank you to Ms Jade Rapley and Mr Adam Taylor for organising this exam period.

It is time to go shopping!

The School Wide Positive Behaviour Shop will be open on Monday 23 June and Tuesday 24 June. The students have been collecting their 4R awards all term so they are super excited to get in there and see what they may purchase!

Fundraising success

The Hands on Learning (HoL) Café hosted a ‘Bake Sale’ for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, to raise funds for the Cancer Council Victoria and support those impacted by cancer. We are pleased to report that the ‘Bake Sale’ made over $2500 to donate to this valuable research! A big thank you to HOL Team and all staff and students who purchased a sweet treat.

Uniform donations

Any families who are using the upcoming winter months to stay home and have a wardrobe clear out and come across any Brookside College uniform to donate we are seeking donations. All uniform donations can be delivered to the Admin Office during school hours.

Semester Reports

Staff are currently in the process of completing Semester Reports, which became available to parents on Wednesday 2 July. In P-6, Semester Reports will need to be viewed alongside information provided on Seesaw. In Years 7-9, the reports will include all information that has been previously provided on submitted Learning Tasks. If you have any questions regarding your child’s semester report, please contact their homegroup teacher.

Stay warm and take care.
