Dear Families and Caregivers,
I’d like to take a moment to sincerely thank all of the families, staff, and children at Meadows Primary School for welcoming me so warmly into the school community. Your kind smiles in the morning and friendly conversations throughout the day have meant a great deal to me—thank you.
A little about me: I have been in education for over 16 years and have had the privilege of teaching in three different states—Tasmania, Western Australia, and Victoria. My career has taken me to a wide range of settings, including regional Western Australia, specialist schools, and metropolitan areas in both Victoria and WA. Each of these experiences has come with its own unique challenges, but all have been deeply rewarding and have enriched both my professional and personal journey.
Outside of school, I’m married and a proud mum of two boys. I enjoy walking, baking, and travelling. Speaking of which, I’m very excited about an upcoming trip to Japan during the July school holidays—it will be my first visit, and I’m especially looking forward to enjoying lots of ramen!
Since joining Meadows Primary School, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the students and staff. One highlight has been being invited into classrooms to take part in their Welcome Circles. This is a Berry Street practice that our staff use daily to foster connection and create a positive start to the day.
I’ve been so impressed by the dedication and care shown by our staff. It’s clear that the students are at the heart of everything they do.
The school holidays are fast approaching, and we’re pleased to share some exciting activities being offered by MacKillop Family Services. Please refer to the attached poster for full details, including activity information and booking contacts.
I hope you and your family enjoy a safe, restful, and enjoyable break. Cherish the special moments together, and remember to praise your children for the unique and wonderful individuals they are.
Warmest regards,
Sara
