Family School Improvement Survey

In 2026, our school is once again participating in Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS). MACSSIS is an annual process whereby schools listen to the thoughts and feelings that students, families and staff have about how their school can improve. These surveys help inform the ongoing improvement of schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

One of the main goals of the family survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school. MACSSIS data benefits everyone within our school and provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on. Our school believes it is important to encourage families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the school. In more recent years, we have had up to 40 families complete the survey. We would love to see this number climb.

The survey is available online, can be accessed from Monday 31 August and needs to be completed by Friday 18 September 2026. This survey may only be completed once.

For families with more than one child attending our school, we ask that you focus on the eldest child attending the school when completing the survey. The school has invited many families to respond via this survey and participation is completely voluntary. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers – all responses are completely anonymous and at no point are any of the responses from students, families or staff identifiable by the school. As in past years, all P&F members and SAC members will be asked to complete the survey.

The survey is available in English, Arabic, Assyrian, simplified and traditional Chinese, Dinka, Hakha Chin, Karen, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Zomi.

We need as many families as possible to complete this survey. It forms a basis for future planning and is a great opportunity to have your say. It won’t take long but your say will have a long term impact.

You will receive your access PIN in the next couple of weeks. Please look out for the email. It will go to the first parent noted in our Family Contact List

Your participation is much appreciated.

After school activities

I have mentioned before that l am very happy for families to gather after school on the oval/sports area as long as it does not interfere with MACSEYE after school care or the Rosella's netball practice.

If you and your child stays after school playing in our gorgeous 'back yard, please supervise their activity closely. We are finding lots of our pebbles/rocks from our dry river bed, rubbish (food wrappers) and equipment strewn around the yard. As parents or adults, we need you spreading out around the yard to oversee the children in your care.

For Netballers waiting for practice, adults in charge should be close by children supervising what they are doing please.

A reminder that all activities after school ARE NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY of  St Luke's School. The possibility of injuries sustained are a risk parents accept and damage may require parents to pay for repairs or replacements.

Thank you for your support.
