Principal Appreciation Week

On Friday, 15 August, staff and students recognised Mrs Burden’s hard work and dedication in leading our school. We thank Mrs Burden for creating a safe, warm and welcoming environment and for encouraging both staff and students to challenge themselves and always do their best.

Book Week

On Monday 24th August, we welcome students, families and playgroup families to join us as we celebrate the joy of reading during Book Week!

The celebrations will begin with our Book Parade at 9:05am, where students are invited to share their favourite book characters and creative costumes with our school community. Following the parade, families are welcome to enjoy a range of book-inspired activities, including craft, a scavenger hunt and morning tea treats.

Our classrooms will also be open for families to come in and explore the exciting learning happening every day. We look forward to celebrating the wonderful world of books and sharing this special event with our school community!

Rockley 175 year Celebrations

We look forward to Rockley's 175th celebrations. 

Our school will be at the markets on Sunday 13th September with students presenting a poem. Our beautiful photography and artworks of the Rockley community will be on display and painting stations will be set up for children to enjoy.

Playgroup Adventures

There is always plenty to discover at Playgroup! Each week, our youngest visitors enjoy exploring the school grounds, digging in the sandpit, feeding the chickens, trying out the play equipment and zooming around on the swing bikes.

These playful experiences help children build confidence, make new friends and feel at home in our school community. Families in the Rockley and surrounding communities are warmly invited to come along, meet others and enjoy a relaxed morning of fun and connection. We would love to see you!

Travel Mode Survey 2026 - collection notice

The Travel Mode Survey is a survey conducted by the Department of Education that is distributed to all public schools. The survey will ask students about their type of travel used to get to and from school in the morning and afternoon.

As part of the survey collection, classroom teachers will conduct a hands up activity where the teacher will ask students specific questions about their mode of transport used to get to and from school in the morning and afternoon. Students will be asked by the teacher to raise their hand when the teacher describes the mode of transport that the student used on the day of the survey to get to and from school. The teacher will record the number of students that have their hands up for each question in the survey.

The student personal information collected by the department through this survey will be de-identified.

What information is being collected

The survey collects the following information from students

• The number of students present in the classroom on the day of the survey.
• The number of students absent on the day of the survey.
• How students travelled to and from school on the date of the survey (e.g, Walking, Cycling, Bus, Car etc).
• Any issues or complaints that students have in relation to travel modes to school.

Why is the information being collected

The purpose of the survey is to collect data on how students and teachers get to and from school to inform department infrastructure projects and transport strategies and services.

Will the information from the Travel Mode Survey be shared

The department may share the de-identified results of the survey with other government agencies, relevant local councils and relevant Transport service providers to help inform transport provision, strategies and infrastructure projects.

The department uses Qualtrics (a third-party software provider) to conduct the survey by collecting and storing the survey data.  Qualtrics will not access the survey responses. Please see Qualtrics’s Privacy Statement and Cookie Statement for further information.

Is the provision of this information voluntary?

Yes. Student participation in the survey is voluntary.  By completing this survey, you understand and consent to Qualtrics collecting and storing the survey responses and to the department accessing, using, disclosing and storing the survey responses.
