Assistant Principal's

Report

It has been a wonderful start to the school year, and I would like to warmly congratulate our Prep students on completing their very first week of school. They have shown such enthusiasm, courage, and resilience as they settled into new routines, spaces, and friendships. Across the school, it has been impressive to see how quickly all students have returned to learning, with a sense of calm and confidence already evident in only our second week together. There is a positive energy throughout the school, and it already has that great feel that comes when students, staff, and families are connected and working together.

Welcome Picnic

Our Welcome Picnic will be held on Thursday, 26 February from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. This will be a wonderful opportunity for families to catch up, meet new people, and continue building strong relationships within our school community. There will be a designated Prep family area to support new families in making connections, and we encourage everyone to come along, bring a picnic, and enjoy some relaxed time together on The Block.

School Council Sub Committees

This time of year is a great opportunity for families to consider becoming involved in our School Council sub-committees. These committees play an important role in supporting the strategic and day-to-day work of the school, and they provide a meaningful way for parents and carers to contribute their skills, ideas, and perspectives. Being part of a sub-committee is a rewarding way to support our school community and help shape the future of FNPS. We warmly welcome expressions of interest in the following sub-committees:

  • Finance
  • Buildings, Environment, Sustainability and Infrastructure (BESI)
  • Policy and Curriculum
  • FNPS Social Club

Thank You

I would like to extend a special thank you to Tom N, who has recently joined our school community and generously given his own time and expertise to help make our school yard look incredible. Contributions like this make a real difference to our learning environment, and we are so grateful for the care, energy, and pride Tom has shown in supporting our school.

Swimming Sports

Our Swimming Sports for Grades 4, 5 and 6 will be held on Thursday. Students will walk to Fitzroy Swimming Pool in the morning, and families are more than welcome to meet at school and walk down with us if they’d like to join in. We wish all students the very best of luck as they compete on the day, and look forward to a fun and exciting event!

Friendly Reminders - Before and After School

To keep our school community safe, we ask that all students and families walk bikes and scooters while in the school yard.

We also kindly request that dogs are not brought into the yard unless they are a service dog and wearing the appropriate vest.

If you would like to speak with your child’s teacher, please make an appointment rather than catching them before 8:50am or after 3:45pm. Thank you for helping us keep our school a safe and welcoming place for everyone!

Have a great week, everyone.

Joe
