Welcome to another exciting year of learning at Glen Waverley Primary School! Here at GWPS we believe that mental health and wellbeing play a crucial role in achieving success. That’s why we have partnered again this year with The Resilience Project to deliver an evidence-based and scaffolded wellbeing program across the school.
In The Resilience Project students focus on four key wellbeing ideas: Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy. Below is a quick refresher about these four key components and their benefits.

As always, we encourage families to join in the wellbeing conversation at home, as research suggests that a strong school-home partnership and consistent messaging deliver the greatest impact to support students’ mental health and wellbeing.
Throughout 2025, we have been showcasing some amazing picture storybooks that focus on various aspects of children’s mental health and wellbeing. Here is a recap of these stories sorted into different topics.
Anxiety
Anger Management
Developing Emotional Awareness
Depression
Mindfulness
Grief and Loss
Resilience
Patience
There will be more stories coming out this year as well, so keep your eyes on this space so you don’t miss an episode!
