Welcome to 2026! 

We have some fantastic fun coming our way in the music department in 2026

Our year 3 students have already started recorder and they learned a song on their very first day! 

Year 3 also had their first choir session with me last Friday. There is no charge for these sessions.

Mini concerts will be back during class music time soon. A chance for your student to perform in front of the class.

Assembly performances are by audition. Please ask your child to audition if they are an experienced, competent musician. 

Our year 6’s have started their uke lessons and they sound AMAZING! There is no hire fee for this year but if the instruments are lost a replacement fee of $50 will apply.

Later this month our Foundation students will begin their TRIVICAL dance lessons -this program is based on participation and no prior dance knowledge is needed!

Our year 3 string program will start soon for those students who have signed up and we look forward to seeing their progress. 

Our String ensemble and Hampton Harmonies programs have not yet started- more info below:

Hampton Harmonies is an auditioned choir open for students from year 4 5 6 

We meet at 8.15 each Thursday morning in the music room. Students are asked to sing just the first 2 lines of our anthem to see if they can hold pitch. 

Australians all let us rejoice 

for we are one and free

Previous members don’t have to re-audition. Only the top 30 singers in the school will be accepted and you don’t need to be learning singing to audition. The program is free. Students need to bring a clear plastic display folder along.

Auditions will be held on Thursday Feb 19th at 8.15 am.  Previous members do not have to attend. The first session for those successful members will be Feb 26th at 8.15am for ALL members.

Instrumental lessons have started and we already have a waiting list for singing lessons with our new singing teacher SKYE who came 4th on the VOICE!!

I have some piano positions available but these too will book out fast!

We also have brass and woodwind available: Flute Sax Trumpet Trombone and euphonium (small Tuba) You do not need to own these instruments as the company will arrange hire. Please contact POCO music 95847341
