What’s been happening:
Foundation - Years 1/2
Our Foundation and Years 1/2 students have made a wonderful start to their time in PE. They have been learning about our PE routines, exploring the space safely, and beginning to practise simple movement skills through fun games and activities. They have been exploring group games and developing their fundamental motor skills. We have also been learning about the Winter Olympics and exploring simple winter-themed movements and games.
Years 3–6
Students in Years 3–6 have had a fantastic start to the year. In the first couple of weeks, we have been exploring a variety of games while revisiting key movement skills and teamwork strategies. We have just begun our athletics unit starting with high jump.

Science
We have had a great start to the year in Science. During the first two weeks of school, students enjoyed settling into our wonderful new science space. They took part in a scavenger hunt to explore the room and its equipment and created a science title page to begin the year.
We have now moved into our term learning. Junior school students are learning about living things, including how to identify what is living and what living things need to survive. Students in Years 5 and 6 are exploring evolution, looking at how living things change over long periods of time and the evidence scientists use to support these ideas.
Our Science Leaders have been working on keeping our space tidy and helping Nadine with our amazing Foundation students.
Students have shown wonderful curiosity and enthusiasm, and we are looking forward to an exciting term of science learning.
