All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

On Thursday 8th August, the Year 4-6's  will gather at Mass to celebrate the remarkable life of St Mary of the Cross, the patron saint of our Parish. Parents are welcome to join us for Mass at 9.15am in the church. (The Year Prep-Yr 3's will e celebrating with a liturgy in their classrooms. )

Mary MacKillop was an Australian woman who co-founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart in 1866. Mary MacKillop was born in Melbourne, died on the 8th August 1909. She is Australia’s first saint.

Mary’s love for children grew out of her experience of loving  and caring for her own brothers and sisters, whom she loved dearly. Her concern was to let them know they were valued and loved and could make good choices in their lives. In her work of educating children, Mary showed that children were important members of society. She also taught compassion and a way of being of service to the poor, out of great love and respect for those in any need.

Mary MacKillop placed God at the centre of her life. She was a  woman of courage, who followed her dreams despite the obstacles. Mary believed that through God’s love she could provide education and human dignity to the poor. One of her most famous quotes was "Never see a need without doing something about it!" A wise motto for us to live by too!
