Visual Arts
Students in 5/6 have started the term looking at street art.
After identifying features of street art styles, students had a practice at creating different fonts.
Next week we will write our names onto a second draft before transferring final designs to art paper.
Students in 3/4 have started the term looking at the art making process of Croatian artist Erika Petrikova.
Erika makes ‘uncomplicated art for a smile’ and there is a storytelling aspect to her work. After talking about her art process and using the visual element of colour as a starting point, students made colourful papers that will be used for collage next week.
Students in 1/2 read the picture story book “Lost and Found” by Oliver Jeffers. Students in 1/2 firstly drew their penguins using a step by step process, then added some personal touches.
We will use our practise penguins to help us with our artwork next week.
Foundation students read the picture story book ‘Mopoke’ by Phillip Bunting.
The students then followed a step by step instruction sheet on how to draw an owl.
Next week we will put our practice drawing skills to work on our owl artwork.
