Foundation News
It has been great to see all the Foundation students settle so easily back into our school routines after the holiday - they have come so far in half a year!
We have begun to link the science area to our literacy block - looking at information books and what we can find in them; the connections we can make and what we already know about certain topics.
We are working on what we can add to our writing and the writing process this term, which includes; plan, draft, edit, publish.
Our students are very proud of the simple sentences and short stories they are now able to write both independently and with support from their teachers.
We had a great time in Mathematics last week exploring Mass, with students hefting with their hands and using scales for the first time. Students really love the hands on activities and comparing the mass of objects in the classroom.
We congratulate Foundation Turner on being the first class this term to win the Bernie Trophy.
