Term 3
This term the Collingwood College SRC have been working hard to make the school a better and more enjoyable place for our students. We have been meeting every week to help plan and organise multiple events and fundraising endeavours. The 2024 goal of the SRC is to raise funds to get more drink taps around the school.
One concern that our student body has raised is not having a platform to have their voices heard. To address this issue, SRC has created SRC mailboxes in all homegroup rooms, where students can offer suggestions and increase student communication.
We have also helped to reinstate the Thursday Market and have a weekly stall that sells sausages. This is only possible every week because of Hannah Marshall and all the wonderful families, community members, and volunteers.
Each term we hosted a Student vs. Teacher sports match and in term 3 we ran a Teacher vs Student soccer match for the enjoyment of our students and staff which was a huge success and encouraged great camaraderie and competitive spirit between the teams.
We also ran a stall at Swing into Spring which was the Coconut Shy! The stall was very successful and we had a number of SRC representatives working hard to keep it running throughout the night.
Based on our school community suggestions we ran a Disco in the last week of term. The dance was a great opportunity for our highschool students to relax and enjoy some finger food, and dancing and music.
SRC has immensely enjoyed contributing to the Collingwood College school community and are excited to maintain the same enthusiasm and joy in term 4!
