Collingwood Alternative School

Music Room

We received a community grant and the senior students put in an application to update the music room that was damaged due to flooding.

The students have decided to turn the back room into a DJ space and are currently building a stage. They will then invite students from Collingwood College to come and use the space and learn about DJ’ing.

Community Connections: Fitzroy Yarra Youth Centre

Students have been going to the Fitzroy Yarra Youth Centre to learn DJ’ing. They are going to use these skills to teach others how to DJ once we have our space set up at CAS.

Second Bite

We get weekly donations from Second Bite. This supports our cooking program so we can provide breakfast and lunch for the students every day.

VPC Micro-credentials

Our senior students are undertaking micro-credentials for their VPC program. This month they all got their First Aid certificates.
