Art

By Emilia Janczuk

It’s been a wonderful few weeks back from the school holidays and everyone is getting back to being as creative as ever before!

Prep

In prep , there has been some leaf rubbing, paper scrubbing vibe as the preps have been doing some nature artworks. So far, they have been putting leaves under paper to then rub a crayon over the top to then reveal a magical appearance of a leaf imprint.

1/2

The 1/2’s have been busy learning the skill of aboriginal art works, learning about their symbols and creating their own designs and have been especially enjoying their coloring in’s that came in lot’s of different designs.

3/4

The 3/4’s have been digging their hands in clay as they have been learning he art of clay vessels (something that can carry water or other solids) and have taken the first week of term 3 to finish their work which they have taken the care of the whole of term 2 to finish and complete their clay pots. They have also mastered the 3 skills of making a vessel which are pinch pot, coil and slab techniques.

5/6

The 5/6’s have been up to their noses with clay for the past term. They have taken the time of the first week to complete their clay vessels with glaze as that is the finishing step to their work which they have taken so much care in perfecting their clay skills. They have also learned the 3 clay techniques which is the pinch pot, coil and slab technique. The feel of clay has also been enjoyed all throughout the year level.
