Principal's Report
We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.
May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.
Welcome back!
We wish all of our students and families back to a wintry, yet wonderful, Term 3. Our students have shared holiday adventures and experiences with us and we hope that all of our families enjoyed the holiday break. We now look forward to a busy and exciting term of learning and achievement.
NAPLAN
We have received individual Student NAPLAN Reports at school this week. Families will be notified via a Sentral notification when the reports are available for collection from the office.
Parking
We have received communication from the Ballarat City Council that carparking around school zones is a current focus area. Please ensure that you are mindful of our students and pedestrians when driving in the vicinity of the school and that, as a driver, you are parking legally to avoid any hefty fines.
Staffing
We have farewelled Matthew Smith as of the start of this term for the remainder of the year. Matthew has been appointed to the position of Acting Principal at Navarre Primary School. We wish Matthew all the very best in his new position.
Parent/Caregiver Survey
This very important survey will be provided to families this term. The survey allows us to collect information about what's going well at our school, from the perspective of our families, as well as areas for improvement. Stay tuned for further information about how you can have a voice in this process.
Assembly
We look forward to seeing all of our families in the gymnasium this Friday afternoon at 2:30 pm for our first assembly for the term - see you there!
On behalf of the staff at Miners Rest K-6,
Kylie Nissen.
