Dear Families and Friends,
Welcome back!
We hope you all enjoyed a restful term break. It’s wonderful to see the children and staff looking rejuvenated and ready for an exciting and productive Term 3. We even had a beautiful rainbow appear to welcome us back. 🌈
Our staff have done an excellent job of seamlessly transitioning back into their teaching routines in their new shared learning spaces. The clear routines established at the beginning of the year have created a palpable sense of calm and order throughout the school.
All classrooms have settled in quickly, diving into their structured learning programs, beginning with their daily literacy and numeracy blocks. Many classes have also started their science topics, focusing closely on chemical science, including the properties of materials, mass, solids, liquids, and gases🧑🏽🔬 🧪. Well done, students! We couldn't have asked for a more positive and responsive start to the term. Please see class and specialist overview pageto find out what's happening in your childs class this term.
For those who have students in Years 3 & 5, NAPLAN results will be available today. Please check your childs school bag. If you have any questions about NAPLAN, your child's reports or our school's programs, please do not hesitate to contact the leadership team or your child's teacher.
🎉Mr Collis Returns 🎉
Mr. Collis has enjoyed a well-deserved break with his family in Vietnam. Given how hard he works, he needed to leave the country to truly switch off. We eagerly await his return next week and can't wait to hear all about his adventures. He has been in contact and is excited to see everyone again.
Welcome Back Ms Levy & Mrs McKeon 🤗
We are truly blessed to welcome Tiffany and Lisa back on to our staff this term. These two exceptionally talented educators are a tremendous addition—we honestly feel like we've struck gold! Lisa bolsters our Irish contingent, and her manner with our students is just beautiful. Tiffany’s nurturing rapport is second to none, and her melodic English tones are a delight to hear echoing down the corridor again. If you get a chance to see them in action, you’ll be blown away.
🐝Working Bees🐝
Thank you to Anthony Morley for coordinating the working bee last Saturday, and to Brendan Tudor, Liam Maloney, and Gerard Bevan for braving the cold weather over the weekend to ensure our school was ready for a fresh start in Term 3. The green bins were certainly overflowing, and the school is looking great.
Another thank you to Jo Cusack for coordinating a brisk Sunday morning gardening session with Rebecca Lowery and the Hodder and Cason families. We really appreciate your efforts to replant and save some plants from the front of the school and for your work in creating a veggie patch. Thanks to Bay Road Nursery for their generous donations.
Parent Teachers Interviews 💬
An Operoo has been sent out to all families informing you of the booking process. These interviews can be booked (P-5) on the Nforma portal, (Year 6's) on Goggle Appointments.
Please see below a map of where teachers will be located.
Your child will be supervised to 3.30, but if you would like to collect them early please see a teacher on the yard.
Years 3, 5 & 6 should enter through the front door and years P, 1, 2, 4, should enter through the side gate on the playground.
Uniform Reminder
These cold winter days are unforgiving, so please ensure your child is adequately layered and wearing their winter uniform ❄️. Mr. Brown has also requested that students wear their full winter sports uniform and pack a beanie on sports days. Whenever possible, students will have the majority of their sports classes outside, as the hall is currently out of action.
GIRLS WINTER UNIFORM
Navy Tunic, White Long Sleeved Shirt, School Jumper,Black School Shoes/T-Bar or Lace Up, Navy Blue Tights or long Navy Blue School Socks to be worn with the Tunic.
BOYS WINTER UNIFORM
Navy Trousers, White Long Sleeved Shirt, School Jumper, Black School Shoes, Navy School Socks with Red Strip
SPORT UNIFORM
During winter, school tracksuits are to be worn and they are to be purchased from the Uniform Shop. The fleece jackets can be worn with sports and school uniforms.
🔨Building Update🔨
The builders made significant progress on demolition over the holidays, and our classrooms look completely different, stripped back to their basic shell. As with most renovation projects on older buildings, there have been some interesting discoveries. We've uncovered doorways and windows that we never knew existed, adding a layer of historical intrigue to the process. It's been fascinating to see these hidden features come to light. We continue to be excited about our build as we can now see and envisage what our new school environment will look like.
Prep 100 Days 💯
In a few weeks, we will be celebrating an incredible milestone: 100 Days of Prep! This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Prep students. Ms. Maloney and Ms. Wood have tirelessly prepared for this important day behind the scenes. Their commitment and passion have been instrumental in making this celebration possible.
Have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm.
