YEAR 12 VTAC SEASON IS UPON US!
Year 12 VCE/VCEVM students are currently in the process of applying for courses via the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).
On Tuesday 23rd July Year 12s attended a VTAC Information session and various topics were discussed including how to search and apply for courses, apply for SEAS/Scholarships, how the preference rounds worked, and key dates. Students were also provided with a copy of the presentation in their TEAMS channel. Parents can click the link below to view the VTAC Applicant Webinar

VTAC Application Fees/Due Dates (2024): (you do not need a PayPal A/C, you can pay with any card)
Timely Applications – 30th September ($60.00)
Late applications – 30th September – 1st November ($150.00)
Very late applications – 1st November – 6th December ($195.00)
Other important VTAC dates (July 2024-February 2025) can be found on VTAC website – Click HERE
Please note, that students do not need to have all of their preferences organised by 30th September, they have all year to do this…however, having said this, it’s strongly advised that students not leave this important research/tasks until the last minute! The last day to have all preferences in order is by 12th December at 12noon.
‘Timely Applications’ means that in order to lock in the minimum VTAC application fee of $60 students must open and enter one course preference by 30th September. As advised during the information session I also strongly recommend that students pay for their account when they open it to avoid forgetting about it later on. If VTAC accounts are not paid, VTAC will not forward student course preferences to the institutions.
SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme)
This program acknowledges any hardship that a student has gone through which has affected their education and as a result may increase the student’s chance of being offered a place in their preferred course. SEAS does not replace any course requirements that must be met.
In reference to SEAS (Special Consideration) there are four SEAS Categories.
(further details on all categories via VTAC website & from SEAS/Scholarship Guide provided to students)
From this year, all students will be opted in for SEAS Category 1. This category covers demographic circumstances such as living, school location age & gender. Students have also been advised that if they are applying for SEAS they should also be applying for Scholarships. Students only need one SEAS & Scholarship application to be entered via their VTAC account which will then be forwarded to all of the institutions listed on their preference list.
SEAS & Scholarship applications are due by 11th October at 5pm. Students have been provided with an extensive guide on how they can apply for each category and must start this process early as some categories require supporting statements to be made by others. VTAC will not accept applications after the above date. If any student requires assistance with their SEAS I encourage them to see Ms Graham-Prowse, Ms Wilson or myself.
VTAC is offering a proofreading service for SEAS applications if they are submitted by 20th September. This is a great way of ensuring that the information entered is correct and if not, students will be able to correct and re-submit their documentation.
SCHOLARSHIPS
There are approximately 200 scholarships that students can apply for via VTAC and a list of these are on the VTAC website- https://vtac.edu.au/access/scholarships. One Scholarship application is required via VTAC and it will be forwarded to all institutions on student’s preference list. Students can also visit individual institution’s website to view other scholarships.

The Study Assist website has an extensive amount of information regarding ‘how to finance’ your studies. To learn more and ascertain what you might be eligible for visit - https://www.studyassist.gov.au/
