Principal's Report

Welcome back to all our students, staff and parents to Term 3 at Gardenvale PS, which we are sure will be a busy but most rewarding Term!  Excitement is building for our musical ‘Eureka’ later this term, week beginning Monday 9th September.  I can guarantee we are all in for a treat when we watch our very talented cast perform this musical written by our Tom Pitts and Julie Pitts.

I hope, that if you have also been able to have a break you too are feeling refreshed and ready for a great term which will include many highlights (other than Eureka), some of which are: -

  • 4 week Science Expert in Residence program for Years 1, 2, 3 and 4, cost for this program comes from the School Fees directly paid by parents at the beginning of the year. The program has been organised by Mr Tan, our STEM teacher, in collaboration with staff from Swinburne University
  • Year 1 Grandparents Morning - Tuesday 30th July
  • Prep 100 Day Party - Thursday 8th August
  • Year 4 – 6 House Athletics Carnival – Duncan McKinnon Reserve – Thursday 8th August
  • Whole School Book Parade – Friday 23rd August
  • Whole School Footy Day – Friday 20th September.

Student Vs Staff Netball Match

On the last day of Term 2 we were all thoroughly entertained watching the Student versus Staff Netball Match. There were some spectacular skills on display from both teams.  Even though one of the teams did have a bit of a height advantage the scores were very close. The staff narrowly emerged victorious with a final score of 15 – 14.

2025 Prep Enrolments

Prep enrolment numbers are steadily building for the 2025 school year. If you are yet to enrol a prep child for next year at our school, please complete the enrolment process as soon as possible so we can accurately plan for the year ahead. Also, if you are aware of any neighbours that are planning on sending their children to Gardenvale, could you kindly remind them to submit their enrolment forms.

Stay warm and have a lovely week,

Janine
