Principals' Message

Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Pride, Optimism

Hello Parents and Friends,

It was a bookend day yesterday at Templestowe Park as our final 2026 Prep Transition took place in the morning and our Prep Camp was held after school.  It gave us the opportunity to see the young, excited and slightly apprehensive new Preps and then the confident, happy and secure current Preps that are about to head into Grade 1. Prep is the most amazing year for development and it made our day to see what our youngest students have achieved in their first year of schooling. Times like this remind us of why we love this job.  I would like to thank our sensational Prep teachers for the organisation of this camp.  It was such a great experience for our students and families.

With only three weeks to go, the school is a very busy place.  Our Grade 6 students are preparing for Graduation, our Grade 5 students have completed their leadership preparation and speeches, class novels are finishing up in Grades 3-6, reports are being written by teachers and our administration team are busily preparing for 2026. It is a busy time for everyone in our community.  We are so looking forward to our Christmas Concert on the 10th December.  It will be a wonderful celebration of the year.  We feel so grateful to be a part of such a thriving learning community.

Parent Payments for 2026 - Please Make Your Payment by Friday 12 December

You will notice on your Newsfeed under Course Confirmation that the 2026 Parent Payments are now available to be paid on Compass.

The process on how to pay the charges is outlined in the letter and guide on the Compass Newsfeed.

Once again, the student charges for Prep and Grades 1-6 are different.  Our Grade 1-6 students use student textbooks while our Prep students do not.  Please see more information on what these levies cover in the attached letter.

As well as Curriculum Contributions that cover all stationery, books and subscriptions, in 2026 the school will be undertaking a major project to build a shelter over our basketball court and lay synthetic grass over our asphalt courts. This is a large project that will be fully funded by the school. The shelter will provide a covered space for PE lessons and whole school events. Parent contributions assist us to undertake major projects such as this one.

Thank you for your vital contribution to our voluntary levies.  Without your contributions we would not be able to offer our extensive and diverse learning programs, purchase the excellent resources we have and improve our facilities.

If you have any further queries please contact Sanober in the school office.

A huge thank you to all the families that have already made the payments.  It is greatly appreciated.

TPPS Christmas Concert - Wednesday 10 December

Our annual TPPS Christmas Concert is set to take place on Wednesday 10 December. The night will kick off at 5:00pm on the synthetic basketball courts.  All year levels will sing a Christmas carol and there may even be a special visitor from the North Pole!

All families are invited to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the company of the school community before the concert begins at 5:00pm.  Our Christmas Concert is an alcohol free event.

We are looking forward to sharing a fun and festive night with you all!

PFA Colour Fun Run!

Last Friday we had our PFA Colour Explosion Fun Run and the whole community had an amazing time.  Students from Prep to Grade 6, and a few teachers, ran the course on the oval while they were showered with a rainbow of colour. To say our students loved it is a huge understatement.  We would like to thank Kate Claringbould, Elise O’Halloran and all the PFA helpers that assisted before and on the day.  A huge thank you also goes to Sean Purcell who did all the plumbing work to get the water down to the back oval.

2026 Grade Prep Transition

Our 2026 Prep Orientation program has now completed.  Our final session took place yesterday and there were so many excited new Preppies as they learnt their teacher and grade for next year. Mrs Tobin, Mrs Foudoulis, Ms Michael and Mrs Groth provided our newest students with such fun and engaging sessions throughout the transition process.

We have had a fantastic transition program over the past five weeks and Mrs Twyford did an outstanding job today explaining the teaching and learning program for Prep to our new parents. This included detailed information about our highly successful systematic synthetic phonics program. I would also like to congratulate and thank Katie Godfrey for her sensational coordination of the enrolment and transition process.  Katie goes the extra mile for our families and the feedback we receive about how kind and friendly she is so pleasing to hear. A special thank you goes to Amy Hidge (Prep mum 2025 - see photo) who spoke to our new Prep parents about her experiences with her own children starting school. Her advice was very valuable. We can’t wait for our new Preps to join us in 2026!

Principals' Award

We were so pleased to present the Principals’ Award to Elsa B-B today at our assembly. Elsa has a phenomenal attitude toward her classwork this year. She consistently demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, enthusiasm for learning, and a genuine desire to challenge herself academically. She approaches every task with maturity, focus, and a willingness to take on feedback, which has allowed her to excel across all learning areas. While Elsa shows strength in many subjects, her progress in writing has been particularly impressive. During her recent persuasive letter, 'Letter to the Principal', Elsa showcased her ability to convince the reader with well-executed persuasive techniques to support her opinions, especially around girls' and womens’ representation in sports. Her argument was logical, well-supported, and highly convincing, highlighting her ability to use evidence and clear reasoning to persuade her audience. Over the course of the year, Elsa has continually moved from strength to strength. She demonstrates initiative, actively seeks improvement through extension activities and programs, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. Her growth, determination, and attitude make her a standout. We are incredibly proud of all she has achieved.

Have a fantastic weekend!
