What's On In 1/2

Carols
Our Carols Night was truly something special. We were so proud of the performance…every song was sung with such enthusiasm and joy that it filled the whole space with warmth. The children’s excitement was contagious, and it was clear how much practice went into every carol.
The soft dusk light, and the gathering of families and friends, created a beautiful atmosphere for the afternoon. It felt calm and festive all at once, the perfect backdrop to celebrate together. It was a night that reminded us of the simple magic of community, music, and shared joy.
We would like to thank Emma Ranson and Jennifer Tesselaar for all their hard work in preparing for the events.
Meet the Teacher
This week, our school was buzzing with excitement as students took part in our Meet the Teacher Transition Day. They had the opportunity to spend time in their new classrooms, meet their teacher for next year, and begin building connections with new classmates. It was lovely to see everyone approach the day with such enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity. We are excited to see students return next year feeling prepared, confident, and ready for the year ahead.
Integrated
During our integrated afternoon, students participated in a variety of Sleigh Building rotations that encouraged creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Children explored construction and design using LEGO and the Nudel Cart, while others followed instructions in a How to Draw Santa’s Sleigh activity. Students also worked in small groups to design and test a simple balloon-powered sleigh. Using a paper sleigh attached to a straw and an inflated balloon, students threaded their sleighs along a string and released the balloon to observe how far it travelled. Across all rotations, students enjoyed working with peers across year 1 and 2 and getting stuck into the activities.
Final message
As we come to the end of a busy and rewarding year, our Year 1/2 students can be incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. Throughout the year, they have grown in confidence, learning, and independence, while building strong friendships and creating many special memories together.
We are so proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and joy the children have brought to each day, and we wish all our families a safe, happy, and restful holiday break as we look ahead to the year to come.
