Our Prep–Grade 2 students enjoyed a special visit from Bravehearts’ personal safety education program, Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure.
Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure Show is age-appropriate, interactive, entertaining, thoughtful and engaging. Ditto the star of the show, along with a Bravehearts’ Personal Safety Facilitator, brings children on a fun journey of personal safety through music and relatable characters.
This visit was organised by our Wellbeing Team as part of St Mel’s ongoing commitment to Child Safeguarding and supporting students to develop confidence in keeping themselves safe. We thank Bravehearts for a fun and empowering learning experience for our youngest students.

Ten of our Year 5 students attended the Sandhurst Caritas Just Leadership Day on Tuesday. The day focused on developing leadership skills, deepening understanding of social justice, and recognising the importance of working together to make a positive difference in our world.
Led by Kerry Stone from Caritas Australia, students participated in a range of engaging and interactive activities that encouraged teamwork, empathy, and courageous action. They explored real-world issues faced by communities locally and globally, and reflected on how they, as young leaders, can contribute to building a more just and compassionate society.
Our students represented St Mel’s with enthusiasm and pride, embracing every opportunity to grow as leaders who live out the Gospel values. We look forward to seeing them bring their ideas and inspiration back to our school community.

As part of our cherished school tradition, we are excited to present the Grade 6 Profiles, a special rite of passage for our senior students as they prepare to graduate. Each year, our Year 6 students reflect on their journey through primary school, sharing personal insights, memories, and their hopes for the future.
In each newsletter from now until the end of the year, we will feature these profiles, offering a glimpse into the experiences and dreams of our future leaders. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their growth, resilience, and the bright futures ahead of them.
Stay tuned to hear their stories and be inspired by the incredible journeys they’ve taken during their time at our school!

Our wonderfully talented Visual & Performing Arts teacher, Robyn Banfield, will be starring in the upcoming production of Little Women! We are so excited to see Robyn shine on stage. Please see the flyer for all the details.
