⭐🎈SWPBS Celebration Day🎈⭐

πŸͺ🍡Friday 28 November🍡πŸͺ

Congratulations to all students for earning another School Wide Celebration Day! Their efforts in displaying expected behaviours that show Courage, Ambition, Creativity and Compassion have earned them over 4000 Egg Acknowledgements, aka 400 Chicks, aka 40 Birds this term, filling our beautiful Tree with colour and pride!

Β

Yesterday our Junior School Councillors met to vote on our Celebration Day and they chose a Classroom Afternoon CafΓ©.

Β

This Friday, during the last hour of the day, all classrooms will become a cafΓ©. Most of the planning and preparation will happen in each class. However, we kindly ask that students bring a plate/snack to share with their classmates. Please keep it simple and avoid food that requires refrigeration or heating. If you are sending baked goods, please include an ingredients list. Students are also welcome to bring a card game to play in their classroom cafΓ©.

Β

We congratulate the students for all the wonderful positive behaviours that earned Eggs to help fill the Celebration Tree.

πŸ†Congratulations Marcus! πŸ†

Over the weekend, Marcus (Year 5) and his dad travelled to Perth to compete in the Australian Disc Golf Championships. Marcus (11yo) competed in the MJ15 division (students aged 15 and under) as the youngest player in his category. The championships represent the highest level of disc golf competition in Australia, with junior players competing on a modified version of the professional course and performing at an impressively high standard. In fact, the top three juniors outplayed many of the adult competitors in the lower divisions!

Β

Marcus competed with tremendous skill and determination, ultimately winning the 2025 National MJ15 Disc Golf title by an outstanding eight shots across two rounds. He played 58 rating points above his usual ranking, a remarkable indication of his growth and development this year!

Β

Just as heart-warming was the way Marcus connected with players from across Australia and New Zealand, building friendships and earning admiration from fellow competitors.

Β

We congratulate Marcus on this exceptional achievement and thank his family for sharing this wonderful story with our school community. What a fantastic result and a memorable trip!

Β

Emma Hunt - Taking the year to travel, perhaps teaching overseas and aiming to bring some wordly experience back to BHN in coming years.

Yasmin Steel - Moving to the Northern Territory to combine her passion for educational leadership with her commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning in First Nations communities.

TOMORROW Friday 28 November, 3:30–5:30pm

Our second working bee will focus on clearing and organising storage spaces, including areas under buildings and in sheds. We’ll also be breaking down old furniture to go into a skip (or two). It’s a big task but as we all know many hands make light work!

We hope to see lots of families come along to lend a hand and enjoy the community spirit that makes these afternoons so rewarding.
