Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

Stepping Up for a Strong Start in 2026
As we continue preparing our students for a successful and connected year ahead, we are excited to share that all children will take part in three Step Up Mornings, each running for one hour, with their 2026 classroom teacher and class group. These sessions are designed to strengthen students’ confidence, build positive routines, and ensure a smooth transition into the new school year.
Across the three mornings, students will engage in a range of learning experiences that reflect the consistent, high expectations we hold for every learner. With the support of their 2025 Learning Support Officer, students will begin forming relationships with their new peers and teachers, helping them feel safe, known, and ready to learn from day one.
During these Step-Up Mornings, students will:
Experience their 2026 classroom environment and expectations
Begin establishing the culture of respect, responsibility, and collaboration that underpins learning at our school
Take part in short, purposeful activities focused on organisation, routines, and learning behaviours
Build familiarity with new classmates, promoting a sense of belonging and connection
Transition opportunities like these play a vital role in student wellbeing and readiness. When children can experience their new learning space, meet their teacher, and understand the expectations ahead, they begin the year with confidence and clarity. These sessions help set the tone for a positive and thriving classroom culture centred on strong routines, meaningful relationships, and high-quality learning.
We look forward to sharing these Step-Up Mornings with your children and supporting a calm, connected, and consistent transition into the 2026 school year.
