Literacy

This fortnight in Literacy, students have been learning lots of new skills. The Preps have been working on the digraphs sh, ee, and qu, and practising how to spot these sounds in words. Our Year 1/2 students have been revising what a suffix and base word are, and have been doing sentence dictation to help improve their writing and spelling.

Maths

In Maths, we have started our Fractions unit. Students have been learning how to find half of a collection by using arrays, how to work out the whole when only given a half, and how to identify one quarter of a group. The students have been doing a great job experimenting with these ideas through hands-on activities.

Prep Transistion

This was our first week we had our 2026 preps for the whole morning! our new Preps got to enjoy learning about what a typical monring looks like here at Bridgewater PS. they joined use for some morning literacy time and even stayed for a play at recess.
