Principal Report
Mr. Lehane
Our River Swimming Program starts on Monday 1st December. We recommend students come to school in their normal school uniform and bring their bathers in their bag or a swimming bag.
Before we leave school students will put their bathers on underneath their school clothes so they are ready when they get down to the river.
When we are finished swimming students will get dressed back in their school clothes before leaving the swimming hole at about 3.15pm.
If you are coming to watch and would like to collect your student/students straight from swimming that is okay but please let a teacher know.
Please remember that if students have a life jacket or a wet suit we would appreciate it if they could bring them along as it helps to make sure we have correctly fitting wet suits and life jackets for all students.

We have an extremely busy end of year that is fast approaching. The final week of the year will be busy, chaotic, fun and definitely memorable! Below I have tried to give you an outline of what the week will look like but more information on each even will be sent home next week!
Monday 15th December - Cluster Day
On Monday 15th December we will be hosting a fun filled Incursion for all of our students. We will also be joined by Inglewood and Raywood Primary School's.
Throughout the day students will work in groups based on their ages and have the opportunity to further strengthen relationships with students from other school.
Students will participate in 3 sessions ran by experts. Two of the sessions will be drama based while the third will be River Detectives (a great opportunity for our students to share some of their amazing science knowledge.
More information about this day will be made available on Class Dojo.
Tuesday 16th December - Lions Club and Graduation
During the day, the Lion's Club will be visiting our school with a special Christmas guest. At night we will be enjoying our school's Graduation and end of year celebration.
Students are encouraged to dress in their nice casual clothes for the event and may wish to wear a touch of Christmas. For our performances, students will be provided with anything they need to wear. Invitations with details will go home next week!
Wednesday 17th December - The Big Day Out
"The Big Day Out"
For our big day out this year we will be visiting Melbourne Zoo! We are very excited to visit the zoo in what will be a fun and education experience!
Thursday 18th December - Grade 6 Lunch
The Parents Club will provide a special Grade 6 lunch for students on this day. Kate has been busy finding out everyones pizza order!
Friday 19th December - Last Day
We will finish at 1.30pm on this day and while there is going to be alot of cleaning and packing up I'm sure we will have a lot of fun and most likely enjoy watching a christmas movie together!
After speaking with our students, engaging in ongoing consultation with School Council throughout the year, and considering the recommendations from our recent School Review, we have decided that Bridgewater Primary School will collaborate with Inglewood Primary School for our Grade 3–6 camps beginning in 2026.
We believe this partnership will provide students with richer learning experiences, stronger social connections, and greater opportunities to build confidence and independence—benefits that extend well beyond the camp itself.
We will still be aiming to have a whole school overnight camp either onsite or locally.
Keep an eye out for more information at the start of 2026!
