POWER SKILLS BOXERCISE SESSION || Our 2026 VCE Vocational Major students took on a high-energy boxing exercise circuit today — strengthening perseverance, willingness to try something new, teamwork and active listening along the way. These power skills help shape resilient, confident and capable young people. Great effort, team!

HALFWAY AND CRUSHING IT – KOKODA 2025 || Our 2025 Kokoda team have fully embraced the challenge, and their training is paying off. There’s been plenty of mud, rich history and some significant ascents, but the group has maintained an excellent pace. The team is well, travelling strongly and in great spirits.

ENSEMBLES CONCERT || This week we held our final music concert for the year — a fantastic showcase of student talent and a wonderful way to mark another successful year of music at BSC. Thank you to our instrumental music teachers for their dedication, led by our Instrumental Music Co-ordinator, Camilla Saunders.

BE PROGRAM || This week marked the start of our 2026 journey! Year 7s stepped up into Year 8s with new Learning Teams, Year 8s began their Year 9 Specialisms, Year 9s embraced the challenge of Year 10 with new Specialisms and Unit 1 & 2 VCE studies, and our Year 10s and 11s commenced their chosen VCE pathways as Year 11 and 12 students! It’s been a strong start, with students engaged, settled and ready for the year ahead.

KOKODA 2025 – THEY MADE IT! || 26/26… This morning our entire Beaumaris Secondary College team crossed under the arches at Owers Corner after completing the full 96km Kokoda Track.
Our students have pushed through heat, hills, blisters and mud, showing resilience, kindness, teamwork and deep respect for the history and story of the track. They finish this journey as the next generation custodians of the Kokoda legacy and we could not be prouder of what they have achieved.

HAWK END OF YEAR PRESENTATIONS || Today our High Abilities Wider Knowledge (HAWK) students showcased their independent research projects with confidence and clarity. It was wonderful to see the depth of their learning and hear them speak with such maturity. We were pleased to welcome parents who joined us for this special end of semester celebration.

CONGRATULATIONS, DALE! || Congratulations to Year 12 student Dale Blackman, our 2025 Head Start SBAT Student of the Year! Dale has balanced his carpentry apprenticeship, Certificate III studies and VCE Vocational Major program with commitment and maturity. A fantastic achievement!

AUSTRALIAN OPEN GOLF 2025 || Yesterday, some of our Year 7–10 students had the exciting opportunity to attend the Australian Open at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. We are incredibly lucky to have this world-class event right on our doorstep. Despite the heat, students enjoyed an impressive day of golf and represented our school beautifully!

PRESENTATION EVENING: CELEBRATING OUR 2025 AWARDEES AND NEWLY NAMED BELONG, BELIEVE, BECOME AWARDS || Congratulations to our 2025 awardees who were presented with their awards at our annual Presentation Evening last night. It was a wonderful celebration of another fantastic year at BSC!
This year, we were also proud to formally name our Belong, Believe and Become Awards in honour of three individuals whose influence and legacy continue to shape our school community.

MICRO-CREDENTIALS WEEK || Today, students took part in a wide range of sessions, including barista training, pottery, festive cooking workshops, a songmakers workshop, soloist auditions for the 2026 College Production, a beach trail run, AFL 9s and a create your own indulgence package workshop! A great start to Micro-credentials Week, with plenty of hands-on learning and skill building.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS || Today, Cameron, Ariston and Oskar attended a special event marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. Hosted by Victoria’s Lieutenant-Governor, Professor James Angus AO at Government House, the discussion explored whether the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is still fit for purpose today. A valuable and thought-provoking experience for our students.

BONJOUR FROM FRANCE || Our second French Exchange is underway! Our Year 10 and 11 French students have spent the past few days immersing themselves in French language, culture and daily life. From exploring local towns to connecting with their host families, it’s been a fantastic start to their exchange.

VCE RESULTS – CELEBRATING THE CLASS OF 2025 || Our strongest set of VCE outcomes yet! This year, 13.2% of students achieved an ATAR above 90 (16 students: 8 female, 8 male), including our three highest ATAR results to date — 99.1, 98.7 and 98.5.
41.3% of the cohort achieved an ATAR above 80 and 62.0% achieved above 70. With a median ATAR of 75.25, a median study score of 30 and 53 study scores above 40, this cohort has set a new benchmark for our college.
We are proud of every student for the resilience, effort and growth they have shown throughout their VCE journey and we take this opportunity to celebrate our VCE Vocational Major students who have successfully completed their VCE and are taking the next steps into their future.
While we acknowledge these strong results, we are most proud of the way our students have lived The Beaumaris Way — demonstrating Curiosity, Optimism, Respect and Excellence alongside their academic efforts.
