Term 1 Wrap Up
It is hard to believe term one is winding up already. It has been a busy term packed with lots of great music making. Our recruitment has been fantastic and we have welcomed a large number of new students into the program. We look forward to seeing them progress and hope they enjoy the musical journey they have started.
It is a good time to remind students that instruments like to be played over the holidays. While you have a little more time, experiment with new songs, give the family concerts and set yourself new challenges.
Junior Band - First Rehearsal for the Year
Junior band had their first rehearsal this week which was very exciting. Students learnt how to start and stop together, where to sit, did some rhythm exercises and learned the first song for the Autumn Concert. The sound they made was amazing and already they have the makings of a fantastic band. Thank you to Elouise, Bella, Darkoda and Cody for coming along and helping out.
Instrument Hire forms
There are still a few outstanding instrument hire forms. Please return them to the music centre as soon as possible. Any queries may be directed to Kim Green in the music centre.
Music Lessons
It’s not too late to sign up to learn and instrument and join the band. Students interested in learning trombone, flute and clarinet should return forms to the music centre and we will put you in a class. We are now not taking any further enrolments on violin, percussion, saxophone or electric bass.
Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences
Unfortunately, not all instrumental music teachers work on the days we have parent/student/teacher conferences. If you would like to talk about your child’s musical progress, the teachers are more than happy to speak with you. Just arrange a time through the music department.
