House Swimming Carnival 2024
It was a beautiful autumn day as Nazareth students and staff gathered at the Noble Park Aquatic Centre for the House Swimming Carnival last Thursday.
Our Year 12s created a colourful display in their costumes while many students in other year levels showed support for their Houses with face paint, hats and flags.
Our swimmers gave it their all as they raced against their peers. There were some land based activities for the students who could not complete. However, only the students who competed in swimming races were give a voucher to use the waterslide.
Knox House was the stand out when it came to support for their competitors. Ms Romy Bilu was our Emcee for the day, making announcements and interviewing a few of our Year 12s on their views about attending their last House Swimming Carnival. Mr Jason Robert was our DJ and kept our feet tapping. Ms Angela Jordan had a large group of students joining her in doing the Nutbush.
The final three events of the day were the Nazareth Gift (won by Lucas Dinh, Year 8 MK2),
the Students vs Staff relay (won convincingly by the students) and the annual Lap by the Year 12 cohort in their costumes.
The final results were:
Junior Shield Winner - MacKillop House
Intermediate Shield Winner - MacKillop House
Senior Shield Winner - Knox House
Overall Winner - MacKillop House.
Congratulations to all competitors.
