Teaching & Learning

Our Numeracy and Literacy Instructional models are tools that help us to have consistency from one classroom to the next. The  instructional models help to unite school leaders, teachers, and students with a shared vocabulary for teaching and learning and discussing shared goals, a shared understanding of how to reach the goals, and progress. Teachers and students have been building their knowledge of what makes an effective lesson. 

Whilst these graphics are new this year, the language and the way teachers structure lessons are familiar to students. You could ask your child:

• What did you do for the launch in maths/literacy today?
• What did the Explore part of the lesson look like? What strategies or proficiencies did you use? 
• What feedback did you give to another student or your teacher?
• What did you learn? 
• How do you know if you were successful in the lesson?
