Head of Sport Report

Congratulations to all students who have received awards at the various presentation evenings for summer sport. Can I please remind all players that as part of the commitment to sport, you should be attending presentation evening. This shows a sign of respect for your coach and those who have organised your sport for you over the course of the season.

Basketball and Netball - Nationals

This week Eric Downes is competing at the U18 Men’s National Basketball Championships in Queensland and Olivia Harris is competing at the 17U & 19U 2024 National Netball Championships. We look forward to hearing how both Olivia and Eric fared at these events.

Mountain Biking - Nationals

Oliver Rutherford. Lucas Rutherford and Fabian Boda-Tulodgi competed at the GWM Auscycling National mountain bike championships at the end of March.

Oliver and Lucas competed in the cross country events. Oliver came in a close 6th place in the U17’s men and Lucas came 10th place in the U15’s men.

I’m not sure if Fabian’s competed in the downhill event where he finished 5th in the seeding round and 10th place overall in the U17 age group. Congratulations to Oliver, Lucas and Fabian on their success at a National level. This is an outstanding achievement.

The BMGS mountain biking community has had a number of successful rides at various events over the past two years. If you are interested in getting involved in these events come and see me.

Cross Country

The BMGS Cross Country carnival was held on Tuesday 9th April. Thank you to all those students who participated on the day. Those who have qualified for the BMGS Cross Country team will be notified at the start of next term.

If you came in the top 8 in your age group then you need to be training over the holidays in preparation for the ISA carnival on the 29th May.

ISA Strategic Review Survey for Parents and Students

ISA is conducting a strategic review and would like input from the association schools. Could you please take the time to follow the link to the survey. If you could complete this over the next few days this would be greatly appreciated.
