PFA  News

As you will have seen on Compass in recent weeks, fundraising is a big focus for the PFA at this time of year, with two of our major (and most delicious!) activities - the Hot Cross Bun drive and the much loved Easter Raffle.

Hot Cross Bun Fundraiser - buns now arriving Friday (22nd March)

As advised via Compass yesterday, Bakers Delight have informed us that due to some ingredient supply chain issues, they need to move the delivery date of our Hot Cross Bun order from today, to Friday (22nd March). If you ordered hot cross buns, they will be sent home with students on Friday. Apologies again for any inconvenience, and to keep you waiting longer for those delicious buns. Something to look forward to later this week! Thank you to those families who placed an order, and to Bakers Delight for once again supporting our school in this way.

The CPS EGGstraordinary Easter Raffle - get your tickets now!

One of the most highly anticipated fundraisers of the year for the students! Tickets are now on sale in Qkr (under the PFA Fundraising &  Events Menu) – prices vary between $1.70 and $3 per ticket, depending how many you buy ($3 each; 5 for$10; or 10 for $17). Ticket holders will be in the draw to win a huge range of Easter goodies. The major prize is a GIANT egg, kindly donated by Lizzy’s Chocolates. Winning tickets will be called out using the name and class of the profile they are purchased under. This would be a great time to check that you have the right year level and homegroup attached to your child’s profile in Qkr, so any prize makes its way easily to them. If you have more than one child at the school and would like each of them to have a chance at the draw, please buy some under each profile. If you have friends, colleagues, neighbours, family members etc that would like to buy a ticket in their own name, you can set up a profile for them using the year level and home group ‘Friends of CPS’, or they can download Qkr and set up their own account. Please keep your donations of Easter Eggs, Easter toys and goodies rolling in as prizes for our fun filled raffle. These can be placed in the box in your child's classroom, by Monday 25th March.

A very special thank you to the very talented Lucy Gow (Mum of Harvey in Grade 5) for once again bringing our very own CPS bomber jacket wearing Easter Bunny to life in the latest of her series of fantastic illustrations!

Can you help?

We can always use an extra pair of hands or 10! If you’d like to get involved, there are lots of ways you can do so. Please check out our volunteering opportunities athttps://signup.com/go/rfQFDNp and put your name down if you can help out - these are updated regularly, so please bookmark the link and keep an eye on it. We would love a few extra helpers for Hot Cross Bun distribution on Friday morning (22nd March), and Easter Raffle wrapping next Tuesday night (26thMarch). There are also shifts available in April to help with the Mothers’ Day and Gifts of Appreciation stall.

Entertainment Books

Sales are now open for the 2024 Entertainment ‘Book’. The ‘book’ is now fully digital, with a searchable and location based app that is regularly updated, and has thousands of offers for dining, entertainment, travel and more. CPS will receive 20% of the value of any purchase made using this link, so please feel free to share with your friends and family members.

Term 1 wrap up

Thank you for all your support of the PFA again this term, through volunteering to help run events, purchasing items through fundraisers, attending meetings, and more! Your support translates to outcomes for the school, its staff and students. In additionto the enjoyment our students get from regular and delicious fundraisers like Icypole Friday, Hot Cross Buns and the Easter Raffle, they also benefit from the financial support we are able to provide when asked by the school. Most recently, the PFA has provided funding for the purchase of grade 6 graduation gifts and yearbooks for the Class of 2023, and legionnaire hats for new Prep students.

Looking ahead ….

We have lots more fun activities on the radar for Term 2 (and beyond). We will once again hold our traditional Mothers’ Day and Gifts of Appreciation stall, a social event ‘celebrating the women of Carnegie PS’,  Australia’s Biggest Morning tea, and some food fundraisers including Apple and Pear Drive and Popcorn Days.

Wishing you all a happy, safe and relaxing holiday break!
