There is a scheduled school photo day for all students who were absent on the school photo day in Term One.
Date: Tuesday 30th April 2024 - 9.30 - 11.30 am
Photographer: Lauren Daniels Photography
What should my child wear?
All students need to come to school dressed in their correct summer uniform on this photo day (no sports uniforms).
Students are to officially wear their winter uniform from Monday 13th May. With the changing weather conditions during early Autumn students may wear summer or winter uniforms when returning to school in Term Two. Parents, please ensure that your child is not wearing a combination of both uniforms during this period.
Parents are reminded of the importance of students wearing their uniform correctly and with pride. School hats are required for all outdoor activities aligned with our school policy - ‘no hat no play’. Please ensure that your child is wearing white or black sport shoes - no Converse boots or skate shoes.
A reminder that long hair needs to be tied back (this also includes boys/mullets or shaved hair designs are not recommended). Correct school shoes/sport shoes and socks are to be worn. A uniform reminder notice will be sent home next term if students are not wearing the correct school uniform.
Our school’s first Term Two Staff Development Day is scheduled forFriday 10th May. On this day teachers will be participating in a Reading Course designed by Sydney Catholic Schools and ACU which is aligned with the new NESA English Syllabus K-6 to learn more about the following:
•Principles of effective reading instruction
•Syllabus expectations related to the teaching and assessing of reading
•The relationship between reading, language and writing
Supervision will be provided for students if necessary in the school library.
We welcome the practicum students from Notre Dame University next term and wish them every success with their professional teaching experience. The practicum teachers will be working collaboratively with teachers designing a variety of teaching and learning activities aligned with the Curriculum and National Professional Teaching Standards to engage students in authentic learning experiences.
A special thank you to our school parent committee and parent volunteers who are organising a beautiful selection of Mother’s Day gifts for our students. The Mother’s Day stall will be available for students to purchase gifts on Wednesday 8th May.
Each student will have the opportunity to purchase a max of 2-3 gifts. If there are any items left once the whole school has gone through the stall your child may be able to purchase extra items.
(If your child forgets we can issue an IOU on the day that can be returned ASAP)
There will be a variety of gifts to purchase. All gifts will have a gift bag.
Gifts are priced at $10 and $15.
Parents, carers and grandparents are invited to our school Mother’s Day Liturgy which will be on Monday 13th May
9.00am - Mother's Day Liturgy on the top playground
10:00am - Open Classrooms K-6
10:30am - Mother's Day Morning Tea on Fatima Forum
11:00am - You are also welcome to stay for recess with your children on this day.
Do you have half an hour to spare......we need volunteers to help out! Only one day every fortnight just from 2:30pm - 3:15pm to help with the running of the second-hand uniform shop.
If you can help, please contact the school office by phone (9524 9980) or email: info@olfcaringbah.catholic.edu.au.
A big thank you to our parent volunteers, the whole school community greatly appreciates your time and service to our second hand uniform shop and other school activities.
