After a long hiatus, Fitzroy Primary School will be hosting our school fete again this year! 

 

All students, parents and the wider community are invited to come together and have fun! 

 

La Fête à Fitzroy 

Saturday 21 October 2023 

12pm to 4pm

FREE ENTRY! ALL WELCOME!  

 

Come celebrate our wonderfully diverse community and the success of FPS’ French Bilingual Program (which is now in its 4th year). 

 

All funds raised from the fête will go directly to improve FPS’ playground, garden or outdoor areas for the benefit of our students and local community. 

 

GET READY TO: 

  • feast on French and local delicacies 
  • enjoy the live music and entertainment 
  • discover our market stalls 
  • revel in the fun activities for the kids 
  • test your skills in a game of boules
  • get your face painted
  • win a prize in our raffle
  • pick up something special at our silent auction

AND SO MUCH MORE! 

 

PARENTS MORNING TEA / JEWELLERY MAKING 

 

Badria is hosting a parents morning tea from 9:15 am every Monday and it is open to all!  Feel free to drop by for 5 mins or longer.   

 

For those who are interested and keen, Badria is also teaching parents how to make jewellery which will then be sold at the fête! 

FÊTE COMMITTEE 

 

We have a wonderful community of parents on the fête committee, but there’s plenty of space for more!   If you would like to join the committee or found out some more information about what’s involved, please contact coordinators Evelyn Tadros evelyntadros@gmail.com or Lauren Marquet lauren.marquet@gmail.com  Or just come to our next meeting scheduled on 1 September 2023 at 3:45pm in the Foundation class room.  

 

If you can’t commit to another committee but you have skills, goods, services or ideas that may be beneficial of the day, please let us know! 

 

HOW CAN YOU HELP? 

 

We are looking for: 

 

Services: 

  • Any staff, parents or students who are part of a band, choir, dance or cultural performance group who would like to perform on the day as part of the live entertainment  
  • Any parents who would be interested in preparing a traditional or cultural dish from their ancestral home country for our “Le Monde” (World) Food Stall  
  • Any parents who would be interested in making something delicious for the school bake stall
  • Any parents (or students) who would like to run an activity or game during the fete 
  • Any parents who know of or would like to approach any businesses or individuals to financially sponsor or support our fête
  • Any parents who would be able to source items for our raffle/online auction 
  • Any parents who could help spread the word about the fete through the community 
  • Any parents who would be interested and free to volunteer on the day

  • Any good quality second-hand books (including in different languages) 
  • Any good quality second-hand toys/books 
  • Any handmade jewellery or craft?

Equipment to borrow for the day

 

Please let us know if you have any of the following that we could borrow for the day: 

  • Trestle tables
  • Table clothes
  • Marquees
  • Chairs or stools 

 

FACEPAINTING 

 

We are excited to have two professional facepainters on the day available to paint kids’ faces for only $5 per facepaint! 

 

We are offering our FPS families an opportunity to pre-book, avoid the queues and secure your spot! 

 

All you have to do is just head to the School Office, write your name next  to a time slot and pre-pay.
