Dear Sacred Heart Community

Happy Father's Day

On behalf of our school community, I would like to wish all our dads, uncles, grandfathers and other special males in our students lives, a great Father's Day this Sunday. Thank you for the special role you take in our students lives and special place you have in their hearts.

Father's Day Events

The Father's Day Stall will be conducted tomorrow Friday 1st September. Jodi would really appreciate any help from parents running the stall. Gifts are $5.00 and each student will be able to buy 2 gifts. If any gifts are left over, students will be able to purchase them later in the day.

The Father's Day Raffle will be drawn tomorrow afternoon before school dismissal time.

The Father's Get Together will take place tomorrow (evening) Friday 1st September, 2023 as detailed below.

School Closure day  - Thursday 7th September.

Our after care provider will be open for the day for any families looking for childcare. In order for this to operate we need a minimum of 6 students. Please get in contact with Youth Leadership Victoria ASAP to book your place.

Football Day

We will hold our annual Football Day next Friday 8th September. On this day our students are encouraged to wear their football apparel to show their support for their chosen  AFL team. If their chosen sport is one other than football for example soccer, netball, basketball, tennis, etc. they can wear clothes to show their support. Please do not feel any pressure to purchase sports apparel. The day is one for all our students, whether they follow AFL or not.

Parent Information Night

A reminder that we have our parent information night on the topic "Communicating with our children in a post Covid world" tonight commencing at 7.00pm. If you would like to attend but haven't had a chance to send in an attendance slip, you are warmly welcome.

After School Chess Club

Details about an afterschool chess club commencing next term were given in a notice to all students yesterday. The club will meet each Wednesday straight after school. The club is open to all chess players from novices just learning the game to more experienced players. If you would like more information please see me.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Revathi and Prasad parents of our Year Five student Bhavin on becoming Australian citizens this week. Our country becomes all the more richer when outstanding families like these are granted their citizenship.

New Cushions

Thank you to our teacher Denise for making the cushions which grace the seats outside our school entrance. As you can see from the first photo, our students are enjoying the more comfortable seats for a chat of a lunch time. My apologies about the "model" in the second photo but he demanded to be photographed. Detailed below is some information about Denise's part time business "Quilting Gifts By Denise" if you are looking for a special gift for a loved one.

Cooking In Our New Aprons
