Winter Sport - ISA Finals

Congratulations to all four teams that contested the ISA Tennis Finals last weekend. Divisions 3, 4, 7 and 8 were well supported by the SPC Tennis Fraternity and special mention ought to be made of the victorious Division 7 team on finishing as ISA Premiers. We have an abundance of talent in the lower grades, and I am certain that they will continue to develop and pave the way for spirited competition in the years ahead, particularly in the higher grades. It would be remiss of me not to thank and commend Felix Yeung, members of the First IV and the Year 12 players who have led their cohort in 2023. Congratulations and well done.

ISA Football Finals

Congratulations are extended to the large number of SPC teams that contested their respective ISA Semi-Finals. I would particularly like to highlight the lower grade teams that have played up a grade given a number of opposing ISA Schools graded their teams down due to their uncertainty of whether they could compete in their correct grade.

This Saturday, the following SPC Football teams will travel to Western Sydney Wanderers Football Grounds located at 81 Eastern Road, Blacktown to take part in the ISA Grand Finals: First XI, Second XI, Fourth XI, 16 A, 15 A, 14 C, 14 D, 13 A, 13 B and 13 E.

Back to Breen Day - Saturday 19 August

After a successful road trip to Orange, SPC Rugby teams will play their final round of fixtures for the season at home against St Augustine’s College.

I wish the best of luck to all teams but make special mention of the First XV as they have set up a grand final match with St Augustine’s College for the ISA First XV Premiership. Despite being close on a few occasions this is one shield the College has not raised and held in our possession since 2003.

Parents/carers, students, and wider members of our community are invited to go and support this Saturday. I know the boys playing will really appreciate it.

That said, all students, playing and/or supporting are to wear correct College attire. Please do not allow your son to attend in the wrong gear as he will be sent home. Furthermore, please adhere to the ISA and College’s Codes of Conduct. In short, let’s go and enjoy the fixtures and not get caught up in any negative cheering or worse still, behave in a manner that aggravates any situation taking place on the field. Hopefully, we will hear some loud SPC war cries taking place at the end of each game.

Congratulations

Well done to Old Boy Mark Nawaqanitawase (’18) who has just been named in the Wallabies Rugby World Cup Squad to travel to France in September.
