MATHS

YEAR 9

Year 9 students have been analysing a game called Cat and Mouse as part of their Maths studies in probability.

They have investigated the difference between short range trials (just a few games played on the board) and long range trials using computer simulations to understand that it takes a lot of experimental trials to get close to the theoretical or expected probability. They have used this to understand whether the game is fair or not.

They will use this on their CAT which requires them to design their own game and justify if it is fair using theoretical probability.
