Stomp Dance Incursion - by Valentina

Last week we had someone from Stomp Dance visit us in our school. Stomp Dance is a company that helps school aged children exercise by trying new dance moves and making up dance routines. During our incursion, a lady from Stomp Dance taught us a new dance routine. My favourite part was when we got to make up our own four second dance move. I hope we get to have another dance session because I had lots of fun with my peers!

Journey to Discovery - by Lily

Our Inquiry unit this term is called 'Journey to Discovery' and we have done as a class some scientific experiments. My favourite one was when we wanted to see which material out of sugar, bicarb soda, and sand would melt ice the fastest. We also did another experiment where we changed one variable in a balloon inflating experiment to see if a balloon would inflate smaller or larger than in Ms. Lisa's experiment. 

Script Writing - by Eva & Willow

In Writing this term, we have been learning about scripts and we have been writing them in groups. While learning about scripts, we have also learned how stage directions work and using expression while acting. We also practised working with others and the cool format of scripts. We are going to perform our scripts for the Prep students next week, and we very excited

Important Dates

We have so many incredible things to look forward to in the Grade 5/6 space this term that I thought I would add them here each fortnight to help you keep track!

Week 5

• Friday 7th November - Senior school water safety day. The permission form for this event (which will be at the local PARC swimming pool) is available now on Operoo.
• Sunday 9th November - Confirmation.

Week 6

• Tuesday 11th November - Remembrance Day & Fire Carrier painting workshop.
• Wednesday 12th November - Grade 5/6 Class Mass. All friends and family welcome to attend.
• Thursday 13th November - Grade 5 leadership workshop & Grade 6 Prep Buddy activities.

Week 7

• Friday 21st of November - Cricket Lightning Premiership (Grade 5/6 Girls Team to attend).
