Junior School students had the pleasure of participating in the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge this year. The Challenge encourages children to read a set number of books over the year and record their efforts online. Since the Challenge first began in 2005, more than 4.5 million students have read over 63 million books.

This year 158 Junior School students completed the reading challenge, reading and reviewing a total of 5,721 books – a marvellous achievement! Students have been presented with a special certificate of recognition, signed by the current and former Premiers of Victoria.

The following is a closing message from Premier Jacinta Allen:

“Congratulations on completing the 2025 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge!

This deserves a celebration – you’ve been part of the Challenge’s 20th birthday and joined generations of young Victorians in sharing your love for reading.

Across our state, more than 76,237 children and students completed the Challenge, and together, 3,092,257 books were read.

No matter how many books you read this year, I’m incredibly proud, and you should be too.

I hope you discovered some fantastic new favourite books, and you’ve enjoyed reading together.

Congratulations, and keep reading”.
