Overnewton recently had a number of students compete at the Victorian All Schools Track and Field Championships, one of the most prestigious athletics events in the state. The competition brings together the best school aged athletes from across Victoria, providing them with an opportunity to test their abilities against high level competition.
Our students represented the College across a range of events and we are incredibly proud of their efforts and the outstanding results they achieved against such strong competition.
Owen V (Year 9) - 1st 200m, 1st 400m, 2nd 100m
Felix V (Year 8) - 2nd Hammer throw
Harriet F (Year 7) - 20th 1500m
Elijah J (Year 9) - 5th 200m hurdles, 9th 100m hurdles,
Christopher M (Year 10) - 7th Triple Jump, 9th Long Jump
Congratulations to all students who competed, your hard work and achievements have made the entire Overnewton community proud.

Last week 35 girls from Years 7-11 came together for the ACS Girls Cricket Gala Day held at Albert Park. It was a wonderful day of sport, where our students got to showcase their skill and teamwork.
Our 3 teams played three exciting pool matches before the two top teams progressed to the final. It was a successful day for all our teams, with Overnewton A and B both finishing on top of their groups after some excellent performances. This meant it was an all Overnewton grand final where Overnewton A claimed victory off the very last ball and becoming back-to-back champions.
Congratulations to all players for their effort and teamwork, you represented the College brilliantly and made the day a huge success.

Congratulations to the Boys RED and the Girls BLUE Softball teams on a terrific performance at the School Sport Victoria Regional Softball Championships in Geelong last week. This is the first time 5/6 Sport softball teams have progressed through the SSV pathway to qualify for the Regional Finals. Both teams shared a positive experience playing in a round robin tournament but unfortunately were not successful progressing through to the SSV State Finals.
Congratulations also to the 5/6 Girls RED Hot Shots Tennis team on an outstanding performance at the recent Western Metropolitan Hot Shots Tennis Championships. It was a combined team effort, winning 3 out of their 5 matches to finish 5th overall in a highly competitive tournament. Well done to all players for their effort, sportsmanship, and teamwork!

Throughout Term 4 on Friday mornings, we will be running a Tennis Program for players of all levels of ability. It will be run by our Senior Coach of Tennis and will focus on all areas of skill development and game performance.
This program will commence every Friday morning from 8am will and run through until Friday 28th November. All equipment will be provided, however students can bring their own racquet if they wish.
