Leadership Report

Term 4, Week 6

Dear Williamstown North Primary School Community,

It is crazy to think that we are halfway through our final Term of the year. It has been both a productive, and celebratory term as teachers finalise assessments for reports, plan for 2026, and enjoy the next five weeks with their grades.

Whilst is it only five weeks to go, there is plenty of forward planning and exciting events on the horizon. Please ensure that you are keeping track of Compass for any information, and reach out to classroom teachers for further clarification/information.

We would like to let our community know that Williamstown North Primary School will be undertaking its scheduled School Review this month. School reviews occur every four years, and are an important part of our commitment to continuous improvement.

A School Review provides us with the opportunity to step back and reflect on our progress toward the goals set in our School Strategic Plan. It allows us to celebrate the many achievements of our students and staff, examine what is working well, and identify areas where we can continue to grow.

As part of the review process, an independent reviewer will visit the school and work alongside our leadership team, staff, students, and school community representatives. The review includes looking at student learning data, observing teaching and learning in action, and gathering feedback from our community. This helps ensure that our next Strategic Plan is well-informed and focused on supporting every student to thrive.

These reviews are undertaken in all Victorian government schools and play a vital role in ensuring our school continues to provide high-quality education, strong wellbeing support, and a positive learning environment.

We look forward to sharing more information with you as the process unfolds, and thank you for your continued support of our school community.

As we continue to prioritise student wellbeing, we remind all families of our No Hat, No Play policy. During designated sun-safe months, all students are required to wear a broad-brimmed school hat when outdoors to protect themselves from harmful UV rays. Students without a hat will be asked to stay in shaded areas during playtimes and outdoor activities. We appreciate everyone’s support in helping us maintain a safe and sun-smart environment for all.

Over the next three assemblies, we are trialling a new format and timings, in line with feedback from staff, students, and parents regarding the current structures. Please bear with us as we work to create the best possible experience for everyone involved. The next assembly is scheduled for Friday 21st November with an adjusted start time of 3:00pm, we look forward to seeing you there.

On Thursday 6th November, four of our athletic superstars participated in the State Track and Field meet, competing against over 100 schools from across Victoria. Audrey Lah, Charli Cross, India Peck, and Indiana Bell took on the 4 x 100 metre relay heats, beating their previous personal best and placing first. Progressing to the final with bubbling excitement and nerves, the group ran their hearts out. As a result of their determination and teamwork, they placed third in the State. Well done Team!! This remarkable result is a testament to their hard work and perseverance, and the entire school community is immensely proud of their success.
