Term 4 continues on a creative high after our annual Arts and Technology Night on October 16, a celebration of incredible talent from our students across Years 7–12.
The evening showcased an inspiring range of student work across art, music, design, drama, systems, wood, fibre, and digital technologies. Highlights included a collaborative art activity, hands-on experiences with VR goggles, award winning student bands, and of course plenty of tasty food and cool drinks to enjoy while exploring the displays. Congratulations to Susan B., who took home the lucky door prize!
A special mention goes to our Year 12 Art Making and Exhibiting students, who presented their final thematic artworks in an impressive exhibition featuring diverse 2D and 3D pieces in a range of traditional and contemporary art forms. Ms. Gosper’s class of 2025 has demonstrated remarkable creativity and commitment throughout the year, culminating in a wonderful showcase of their work on the night. Congratulations to Vayda Z., awarded for Outstanding Application, and Amani K., recognised for Exemplary Learning Growth, for their outstanding achievements and dedication to their art. We wish our Year 12 students all the best with their exams and future pathways. Well done!
We also celebrated the winners of our Annual Student Art Competition, run earlier this year by our Visual Arts leaders Vaeda W. and Harris H., with Ellis A. from Year 11 taking out first place, and Alizee R. from Year 7 as runner-up. Congratulations to both students and all the entrants for their creativity and skill this year! Stay tuned for next year’s exciting competition.
Visual Communication Design students have also recently visited the Geelong Tech School, participating in special education programs that explore design thinking and emerging technologies - an exciting opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Thanks to Mr. Vinton for organising these active and engaging opportunities for our students.
A huge thank you goes out to our incredible staff, student helpers and participants across the Arts, Technologies, leadership and even Science learning areas (thanks always Ms. Kelly) for making our annual exhibition such a success over in TAS. From masterpieces and creative displays to musical marvels and technological wizardry – what talent and hard work! Through last minute glue-gunning, belated bump-ins and timely mounting and installation - all whilst maintaining regular teaching and learning activities - your enthusiasm, organisation and good humour have made the event truly unforgettable. Special thanks go to Ms. Saggar and Ms. Barnett as fellow leaders of Technology and Preforming Arts respectively who also collaborated on this event. I feel privileged to be part of this team and am inspired for the years ahead. Our Arts and Tech crew have nailed it again!
It’s wonderful to see such enthusiasm and creativity shining across all year levels. Keep creating!
