Dear Families,
🌼As we embrace the warmth that spring is bringing us, I’m excited to share some highlights and important updates from our school community this month! 📚✨
Celebrating the Color Run Fundraiser 🎨🏃♂️
A huge thank you to all our students, families, and staff for making our Color Run a resounding success! 🎉 It was heartwarming to see everyone come together to support our school while having fun. The energy, enthusiasm, and creativity displayed by our participants were truly inspiring. We are thrilled to report that we raised significant funds that will directly benefit our programs and resources. Thank you for your generous support! Congratulations to Oliver in 1/2A for raising the most funds for this event! ❤️
Student Leadership Process for 2025 👩🎓👨🎓
We are currently in the process of selecting our student leaders for 2025. This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills, voice their ideas, and contribute positively to our school culture. We look forward to seeing many of our students stepping up and sharing their visions for our school! 🌟
Upcoming Christmas Community Event 🎄🎉
Mark your calendars! 📅 Our annual Christmas Community Event is just around the corner on the afternoon/evening of Friday, November 29th from 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM. This festive gathering is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect, celebrate the season, and enjoy activities together. We will have our Annual Art Show on display as well as student musical performances and plenty of holiday cheer. 🎶 More details will be shared soon, but we encourage everyone to join in the festivities and make this event a memorable one for our community! 🎊
2025 Class Compositions and Transition Sessions
As we look ahead to the 2025 school year, we are carefully considering class compositions to ensure a balanced and supportive learning environment for all students. All students will participate in 4 transition sessions this term – 3 x 50-minute sessions and 1 x whole-day transition session. 🕒 These sessions (called Up Trials and Up Day) provide students with a chance to experience their new classes and work with other teachers. Class compositions will change during these sessions, and final grade compositions and teacher allocations will be published later this term. However, these activities are designed to ease the transition and foster a sense of belonging in our school community. 🤝
2025 Staffing Update🏫
As we plan for 2025, our staffing profile will stay relatively similar to this year. It is bittersweet to announce that Ms Suzy Allan has accepted an ongoing classroom teacher position at Barton Primary School. While we will miss her kindness, passion and dedication, we are excited for the new opportunity that awaits her.
Substantive Principal Position 🏫
In light of the recent news from Mr. Patrick Halpin, the Department of Education Regional Office will commence a recruitment process for a new substantive Principal for the school. At this stage, I will be continuing in the Acting Principal role for the duration of the 2024 school year. When further information is available regarding the regional arrangements, we will be sure to update the school community.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school. Together, we are creating an enriching environment for our children to thrive. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. 💬
Warm regards,
Stephania Johnson-Turner 🌟
Acting Principal
