CFA Bonfire

What a night! I couldn’t be prouder of our Bolinda Primary School community for coming together and making our Sweets and Treats stall at the CFA Bonfire Night such an incredible success. The response was overwhelming—our stall was buzzing all night as volunteers kept busy serving an endless stream of eager customers. It was wonderful to see so many families and community members joining in the spirit of the event, baking, preparing treats, and putting together lolly bags. We also had the chance to chat with members of the community about our school, and the positive feedback was simply fabulous.

Thank you to everyone who baked, donated ingredients, made treats, and volunteered their time at the stall. The total amount raised on the night was an astounding $1,376.30! This fantastic result couldn’t have happened without your incredible support and generosity—thank you for making it such a memorable night.

PFA Meeting

Fresh off the success of the CFA Bonfire Night, I’d love to bring our PFA together to start planning our calendar of events for 2025. A face-to-face meeting would be ideal so we can have a productive discussion and share ideas directly. If you’re interested in joining the 2025 PFA team and helping us create another fantastic year of events, please let me know. Looking forward to seeing some new faces and familiar ones as we plan for an exciting year ahead!

Smoking in the Carpark

I'd like to remind everyone that smoking and vaping are prohibited in our front carpark. As this area is government land, it is legally designated as a non-smoking space. Additionally, we have a number of children whose asthma is easily triggered by air pollutants, making it especially important to keep this area smoke-free. Please help us ensure a safe and healthy environment for all by refraining from smoking or vaping in the carpark. Thank you for your cooperation and consideration.

Toilet Build Update

Our new toilet block is steadily coming along. The site has been prepared, and the concrete slab is now set. We’re currently waiting on the steel framing to be fabricated and delivered, after which the builders will return to begin erecting the frame. From there, we expect things to progress smoothly. In the meantime, we’ve been choosing the colours for the space to create a welcoming environment. We’ll continue to keep you updated as the project moves forward.

Veggie Garden

Our veggie garden is coming to life with a bounty of fresh produce! Thanks to the care and enthusiasm of our students, who have been tending to the garden with Donna during break times, we’re already seeing some scrumptious greens sprouting up. With plenty more veggies on the way, we’re looking forward to using our garden’s produce in the coming months. It’s wonderful to see the students so engaged in the garden and learning about growing their own food.

First Aid Training

This week, Bolinda Primary School staff took time after school to refresh their first aid training. We focused on essential skills, including anaphylaxis management and CPR. These sessions are not just about meeting requirements—they’re about ensuring each of us is ready and confident to respond in any situation. Regular training like this keeps us prepared and aligned with school requirements, so we can continue to provide a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Swimming Program

Our week-long swimming program has been a wonderful experience for our school! Each day, our students have travelled to the Sunbury Aquatic Centre, where they’ve participated in a fantastic program focused on building their swimming skills and water safety awareness. I’ve had the chance to chat with the students, and they’ve shared how much they’ve enjoyed the experience—even if they’re feeling a bit tired by the end of the week! It’s been a valuable opportunity for them.

Common Professional Practice Day

As reminder that Monday 4th of November is a Common Professional Practice Day for our teachers. We will welcome our students back to school on Wednesday 6th of November.
