A special congratulations to Eden B, Alistair V and Beau D who placed 1st or 2nd in their respective events and will now compete in the Eastern Region Track and Field Carnival on Thursday 24th October at Tom Kelly Athletics Track. Super effort, well done!

BASKETBALL DIVISION FINALS: On Monday 14th October, the boys/open basketball team played in the Maroondah Division basketball finals at The Rings stadium in Ringwood. The team was crowned the district winners back in term 1 for summer interschool sports.

The team played 2 mini games consisting of 2x12min halves against Croydon Hills PS and St Anne’s. Both games were played with excellent skill, teamwork and determination. Although we didn't come away with a win, I’m extremely proud of the way the team never gave up and demonstrated our POPS values.

Scores:

Croydon Hills 27  defeated  POPS 17

St Anne’s 28  defeated  POPS 21

A special thank you to Mrs Narelle Sprague and Mrs Belinda Palframan who assisted with transporting the boys to and from the venue.

T20 CRICKET & HOT SHOTS DIVISION FINALS: On Wednesday 16th October we had a number of students represent our school in interschool sport summer division finals at Yarra Valley Grammar. Both the T20 Cricket team and the Hot shots team were winners for our district back in term 1.

Our boys/open T20 cricket team played 2 games against Yarra Valley Grammar and Ringwood Height PS. The boys showed grit and determination and played with excellent sports-personship. They lost to YVG by 50 runs and Ringwood Heights PS by 79 runs. Although they lost games they had lots of fun and made some new friends along the way.

Our Hots Shots team played at the same venue but on the tennis courts. The courts were modified for hot shots tennis rules. They played 2 rounds against 2 other schools; Yarra Valley Grammar and Ringwood North PS. Unfortunately they lost to both schools but had an excellent day of tennis playing and enjoying the sunshine.

Results;

YVG 384  defeated  POPS 165

Ringwood North PS 303  defeated POPS 221

A special thank you to Mrs Louise Stevenson for assisting with transport and also for scoring the T20 Cricket team.
