2024 Cardinia Division Girls Cricket Blast 5 and 6
We attended the girls Cricket Division Blast on 23th of October 2024, this was an amazing opportunity and we'd like to tell you about what we did.
In term 1, we were training very hard, and so was the boys team. We played against Orchard Park and Minaret College. Our efforts were rewarded, and we won the event. But, the boys team sadly did not win, although they managed to come second which is an awesome achievement. We were delighted and hoped to win in the next level against more schools. This experience of interschool sports, provided us with an opportunity to meet new friends whilst engaging in games of cricket.
Later in term 4 we started to train for Lightning Prem again so we could get our strength back, although we had swimming so we couldn't train as much as we hoped to, we still trained hard as much as we could in break times.
Yesterday though, when we started to play against other schools, it took us a while to get back into the game, but pretty soon we got the hang of it again and started to get more runs. We managed to get to the Grand Final against Beaconhills Pakenham. We sadly didn't win, but we had a lot of fun.
We had an awesome time and would like to thank Mrs Silva for dedicating so much of her time to us and to helping us improve and the P.E staff for giving us this opportunity. As well as, of course, the awesome team we played with, Tiana, Par, Hargun, Anne, Keth, Bor, Mawi Mawi, Mikaela, and Diya from grade five and six who were amazing cricketers. And Levi, our Year 10 coach for helping us train, giving us tips on how to play better and encouraging us. Although we didn't win, we had a blast.
Good luck 2025 cricket team!
