What a start to the term!
Last week we celebrated World Teachers Day, recognising the phenomenal staff we have at Roselea. The quality teaching that occurs daily in classrooms across the school does not just happen. Teachers spend copious hours planning lessons to challenge and engage students. To ensure students thrive in all areas, staff also sacrifice their break times to offer a range of extracurricular opportunities in debating, sport, band, dance, choir and many more. The expertise of our teaching staff is something that I truly value. Apart from our amazing classroom teachers, our students are supported by a fantastic executive team and incredibly experienced teachers supporting MiniLit, library, EAL/D, Mandarin, science, creative arts, and Learning and Support. Thank you to the parent community for your thoughtful gifts on the day and the reminder of how wonderful it is to work in partnership with our community.
Student achievements
Roselea could not be prouder of our amazing students, Finn L and Alexandros T who represented Sydney North at the recent State Athletics Carnival. Demonstrating their amazing talent, Finn came third in the high jump and Alexandros came second in the shot put. They both now progress to represent New South Wales at the nationals. We wish you all the best!
Idella H has just returned from competing in Europe. Her soccer skills meant she was chosen to represent Australia and played against teams such as Real Madrid and Barcelona. It was an opportunity to showcase her skills on the world stage.
Last Monday our Year 5 debating team won the final of the Epping Rotary Debating Competition. The topic was that ‘children should never lie’. Our team was on the negative side of the debate and convinced the adjudicator with their flawless arguments and rebuttals. Congratulations to Livia H, Chloe H, Ava R, Myesha Y and their fearless leader Ms Fairgrieve. All those hours of preparation paid off and Roselea remain champions for a second consecutive year.
This Thursday evening our choir and senior contemporary dance group will join with other local schools performing in the Epping District Music Festival. Thank you to Mrs Clements, Mrs Craig, Mrs Dong, Mrs Gurrier-Jones and Mr Love for giving up your time preparing our students and attending the evening. The event is held at the Chatswood Concourse and I know our students will represent the school proudly and look forward to enjoying the performances.
Tell Them From Me Survey
To help support our school development and planning for next year, we ask that you please spend some time completing the Tell Them From Me survey. This survey helps our school evaluate what we are doing and plan for continued improvement. The survey is anonymous and will not take long to complete. We value parent voice and would love to hear from you. Simply click the below link to complete the survey before this Friday 8th November.

Thank you to everyone who have already completed the survey, we appreciate your time and feedback.
Twilight Fair
We are on the countdown until the Twilight Fair this Saturday 9 November 2-7pm. Thank you to all the parents working tirelessly to ensure the success of the event and to all the generous donations. Visit the Twilight Fair page of the newsletter for more information. I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
2025 planning
As we rapidly near the end of this year, we start to plan for next year. All NSW Public Schools are staffed through enrolment numbers and associated formulae. Therefore, in order to plan appropriately for the 2025 school year, we need to know as accurately as possible our anticipated student numbers for next year.
If your child is leaving Roselea Public School at the end of 2024 and will not be returning next year, please let the school know by sending the office an email. roselea-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.
Likewise, if your child will be on leave at the start of 2025, we ask you to email the office with details of their intended date to return to Roselea.
To assist with class planning for 2025, all students over the next few weeks will fill in a form in class. In this form they will be asked to identify 4 friends that they would like to be in their class next year. When making classes for next year, we will look at this list and ensure that at least one of the four friends is in the same class as your child. There are a variety of other factors that we take into consideration when forming classes, however by ensuring that everyone has at least one friend, we hope that all students will make a smooth start to 2025.
We are lucky to have a fantastic staff at Roselea and your child we be supported in any class that they are placed. It is for this reason that we will not be accepting teacher requests.
Kindy 2025
If you haven’t enrolled your child yet or you know someone whose child will be starting at Roselea PS in 2025, please ask them to enrol online using the following link: https://roselea-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/about-our-school/enrolment.html.
We still have one more Kindergarten orientation session coming up on Wednesday 27 November.
